The dark black alarm clock rang, it was 6:55 in the morning. She stayed in bed staring at the clock, until jumping out exactly at 7:00. A plain black shirt and a pair of black shorts were carefully folded on the floor, she had put them out last night, at 8:30. She had worn this yesterday, and was also planning on tomorrow. The only thing that was strange was that she didn’t wear the same clothes three days in a row, but instead this is what her closet was solely filled of. Five pairs of black shorts, seven black shirts, and ten black socks; all ankle high, and thankfully, none had holes. It was 7:05 and she had just finished getting dressed; right on time. 7:10, she had exactly ten minutes to eat, before cleaning up at 7:21 and leaving at 7:25. Locking the door she headed out, gleaming at her watch seeing that she was on time. Being on time wasn’t a surprise to her, since she left the apartment everyday at the same time, and then came back at the same time. While Anna was living quite a dull life; never doing anything new, and instead with an every day routine that could never go wrong. Her best friend, Amethyst on the other side, was doing the exact opposite. She spent her time traveling, and always doing new things. And Amethyst being on the other side of the world, they didn’t get to see each other very often. They had agreed to call at 5:00 pm on a saturday every week, however Amethyst was always late. It was 2:00 in the afternoon, and the phone rang. Anna glanced at the phone, she couldn’t answer it, she had to clean her room, and then at 2:05 she had to wash the dishes. Anna had never not followed her routine, she couldn’t mess up her whole schedule. After a few seconds of it ringing, she went to go check who was calling, she couldn’t stand the noise anyway. Amethyst. Anna pondered for a second, before answering it. Amethyst never called, so Anna was more than happy to talk to her. “Hello?” This sure wasn’t Amethyst’s voice. “Hi, who is this?” Anna suspiciously asked, “This is the hospital of name town, are you Anna Jones?” they asked, 2:15 pm she found herself in the bleak hospital room, it quite resembled her room. Amethyst silently lay in the bed, Anna was sure she had injured herself in one of her many adventures. “An injury right?” Anna asked, almost too cooly. “No, diabetes actually. She fainted from extreme fatigue.” “What?! H-” The doctor cut her off, “She needs a kidney donation”, Anna couldn’t keep up with this. She slowly sat on the bed, trying to take everything in.
