Many people try and many people have failed. Everyone hopes to succeed in something, whether it be anything from sports to seminary, school, or just life. Every day there are people who invent things, they try over and over again until it works out. There are many successful people in this world and they didn’t get there easily. Success is something earned not given, and comes with trial and error.

Success, whether you achieve it by getting a perfect ACT score, becoming a CEO of a multi-billion dollar company, or through a sticker for getting all your spelling words correct, achieving success can be accomplished in any way. The meaning of success to me is when one ambitiously works hard and takes the utmost advantages to a certain extent. This past summer I was given a great opportunity to read a story by Malcolm Gladwell called Outliers: The Story of Success in which Gladwell refutes the standard argument that successful people are so simply because they put in a whole lot of hard work and effort. The book Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell describes different factors contributed to a successful life. Gladwell displays many great sides of success and truly gives ones the reason to keep fighting.

My grades were going down beacuse I always got home late from practice. I was so occupied with baseball that I never focused at school. “How can you play if you can’t focus during scool.” This time, my dad said it in a depressed way while walking out of my room. He got tired of raising hs voice. I looked at myself in the mirror and promised to fix myself, day by day, to become an example of being a student athlete.
