The date was April 13, 1945 that President Franklin D Roosevelt (commonly know as FDR) died of cerebral hemorrhaging. He died in Warm Springs, Georgia. He truly served as a phenomenal President. In fact, thousands of people still consider him as one of the greatest Presidents ever. He is the only President to be elected not only three, but four terms in the oval office. This is not even possible to occur again due to new laws that state a president can serve a maximum of two terms(or four years). He served as the thirty second President. After he died, Truman was sworn in as President. Franklin displayed various great deeds during his four terms. This includes, but is not limited to, opening many National Parks. He also got the country through the Great Depression. It was FDR himself, whom the quotation “The only thing we have to fear, is fear itself.” (quote found on google.com) …show more content…

FDR was born on January 30 , 1882 in Hyde Park New York. He went to Harvard University. This shows that he definitely was smart. Only 5.9 percent of applicants get accepted. (found on google.com) Franklin was a very educated man. President Franklin was paralyzed from the waist down from the year 1921 until death. FDR had a disease called Polio. Polio is a disease that affects the nervous system mainly in the spine. It destroys them until the individual is paralyzed. It is spread through contaminated food or water. There currently isn't a cure for it, but we do have treatment that may help prevent it. The current rate of death is 5 to 10 percent of people who get polio die.
