In my passage Ephesian 1:15-23, this is Pauls prayer to Jesus of giving thanks, God has given us so much, and when God gives us a lot our perception can be changed based on how much we get from God, but we are blind because we can never be satisfied so we ask for more. We can build a wall of ungratefulness and never see the “light of God”.
The main message of this passage is that whatever He calls us for to do we shall do it, and hope for the best, to experience the riches of his glorynessasked, and to feel his Almighty power. But be grateful for all that He has done for us. Also to show them that Gods is their provider of everything, and to give thanks to what they have. And is a call to the jewish who are converting to christianity, to show unity in christ. The audience are general Christian believers, and gentiles. The circumstances were to not slip into the wrong path full of temptatoins, and to make sacrifices. Make sacrifices because Jesus had sacrificed his only Son for us. The audiences relationship with god is that their relationship with God was good, and showed respect for them. I found that the relationship with the author was fair, the people he was preaching to are wanting to be followers of christ. The reason to this prayer that is being said by Paul, is that Paul Hopes that his audience will be “fully endowed with the Holy Spirit.
For some background information on Paul. His original name was Sual in Hebrews announced in the new testaments. He was yoked to a rabbi so he can become a rabbi him self. Paul converted to christianity when he saw the resurrection of Jesus Christ on the road of Damascus. During his life he created three big ministries to travel through the Roman Empire, and he did this because he was planting churches. His goal was to preach to the new Christians the word of God, and to give encouragement. Paul started his mission because the Lord asked of him to do so, and so the Lord provided him with wisdom and strength to for fill his journey.
