It is one of the most important role not only in pharmacy, but also in the health care system as a whole. Providing the best customer service is the key to run a pharmacy store successfully. To strive excellence in my services, I will be polite to others and I will give them more priority than myself and serve them first. I will get involved in extra-curricular activities and pharmacy organizations reach out to as many people as possible. For instance, I hold a very strong interest to volunteer for cancer awareness; for this I need to make a team with some of my fellow classmates who are interested as well. Along with my group members, I will raise awareness of cancer. I also want to volunteer for American Cancer Society (ACS) where volunteers
As the eighteenth century drew to a close, so too did British favorability; and by the end of 1774, conflict between Britain and the colonists was seemingly inevitable. The unprecedented mass distribution of Thomas Paine’s pamphlet, Common Sense, sparked a dialogue so revolutionary that it liberated Americans, allowing them to start their government afresh, free from their ties to the British past. On the 7th of June, 1776, the Second Continental Congress motioned for independence, tasking a committee to draft a declaration of independence. James Madison, outsourced by the drafting committee, would pen a blistering indictment of King George III’s transgressions. Formally acknowledging the colonial desire for war, his Declaration of
I volunteer at Wagner Pharmacy, which is located in an underserved community. I help to improve patient adherence through medication education and Medication Therapy Management programs. I also perform hypertension screenings and assist the pharmacist in preparing patient assessment forms to furnish hormonal contraceptives, Naloxone and smoking cessation therapies. I will bring my unique pharmacy experiences to UCSD and become an exceptional healthcare provider.
This paper focuses on the use of modern technology in the health care service. M-health service has been recommended for the CVS/ Caremark pharmacy company to improve their customer service. This would help them to cut costs and access people in remote areas. This would help CVS / Caremark Company to go global and increase their network.
"A pharmacist must advocate for themselves so that they can promote their abilities and the services that they can provide for patients, and this will in turn provide the pharmacy with further opportunities to showcase their value to the health care team as well as the government." (Despins, 2015, p,12).
Consumer Value Store (CVS) opened in Lowell, Massachusetts in 1963. The company was one of America’s largest retail drugstores and had 4,000 stores and revenue of $24.2 billion by 2002. Generally, a company that serves pharmacy service must emphasize customer’s satisfaction, customer’s safety, and process efficiency. The purpose of CVS is to satisfy consumer’s needs, guarantee the accuracy of filling prescription and the health of customers, and improve the existing pharmacy fulfillment process.

Implication for patients: Possibility for Duplicate therapy, waste of Physician time and resources, Jeopardizing patient’s protected health information
Anyone within Pharmacy can tell you that multitasking and communication skills are your two best friends. On a tuesday when I was at Wallgreens, for an example, a lady came in and one of the technicians did not hear the woman correctly so she
While all of the different specialties sounded potentially interesting, the presentation also made me more aware of how different the career of pharmacists can be from one another. I realized that certain work environments emphasize interpersonal interaction and customer service whereas others do not. I intend to follow some of the advice of the speakers, especially in connection with making an effort to become more familiar with different types of pharmacy specialties to help determine which choices might be most compatible with my personal lies and dislikes. On November 1, 2012, I attended a Career Day Reception where representatives from American companies such as CVS, Target, and Rite Aid described their respective internships for pharmacy students. That
In “Something Wicked This Way Comes” by Ray Bradbury, Charles Halloway is a character that faces internal and external conflicts. The evidence “Hell, I was forty when he was born.” (Bradbury 37), “He’s too young, I’m too old. God, sometimes I wish we’d never…” (90), and “You know what I hate most of all? Not being able to run anymore, like you.” (131) is used to show how Charles Halloway faces the internal conflict of wanting to be young. Because of this Charles gets bothered when he sees the age gap between his family. Charles also has an ill-stricken heart which adds to his internal conflict. Charles is always thinking about how his family is so young and how he is way older than them. Charles Halloway worries and constantly lets these conflicts
Pharmacy is my first career choice. In a way, it embodies the three other careers that I have also considered pursuing. [transition] Artists dedicate their lives to learning and mastering their skills in order to create their vision. Teachers pass on valuable knowledge to their students and mold them into successful individuals. Politicians establish and modify policies for the people they are elected to serve. As a pharmacist, I hope to incorporate parts of these three into the career that I have chosen to pursue. I want to become proficient in my skills of pharmaceutical care, take an active role in improving the processes of pharmaceutical practice, and educate and lead my patients to a healthier life.
During my diverse 22 year clinical pharmacist career, I have continually focused on being patient-centered whether working in hospital or retail. My goal has been to exceed expectations and to adopt a servant-leader philosophy early in my career. From my experience, I believe superior patient outcomes are achieved by utilizing all disciplines of the healthcare team. Belief in this concept has brought about success in clinical hospital pharmacy during my 22 year career. Through the medical center based "Pharmacist on the Nursing Unit Program" that I was fortunate enough to initiate, these goals were achieved. I feel that my management certificate, excellent writing and communication skills, professionalism and pride in pharmacy; and consensus
Patient - centered care is something I think should’ve been a part of the pharmacy field since pharmacy has started though, it was to a different extent. Patient - centered care for me is to mold/modify a treatment plan according to the patient’s needs and to consider them in the treatment plan when making one up. Most doctors are likely to just tell the patient what their condition is and what they should take and just tell them what they need to know instead of asking them questions like what are some complications they have been facing while they are following the treatment plan and addressing them. I think it’s important to have patient-centered care because then the patient is more likely to trust their doctor and are willing to follow their plan even if it is uncomfortable to them.
So upon graduating college, I started volunteering at ABEMO as an advocate for women. Their vision is to empower women so they can pursue an education and also to end female genital mutilation. This was of great significance to me because it struck a chord close to home; especially haven barely escaped such torture. During this time I landed a job at a pharmacy as a pharmacy attendant and there I learned about drug handling, trade names and active ingredients. These experiences reinforced my interest in the field of pharmacy. I came to be part of a team that helped improve people’s lives and it felt amazing knowing I could make a difference even in my own little
