Every four years, a special event calls people from all over the world to compete for glory and fame. This event is called the Olympics. Since 1896 thousands of people have competed and thousands of people have been called legends. One of great legends of swimming was Johnny Weissmuller. He battled through health issues and the unencouraging words of others to become one of the greatest legends of the 1900s. Not only was he a legend of swimming, but he was also a legend on television. Johnny Weissmuller had a successful career as a swimmer and as an actor during the booming age of television.

The American Civil War ended in 1865. In 1866 and 1867, the Johann and Rike are living at 1111 Allen Avenue. As a renter, they often change residences while always remaining in the Soulard neighborhood. The streets in Soulard are lined with two story brick houses most of which are multifamily flats that are rented. For Example, Sir Nicholas Winton provided safe routes for Czech Children to Great Britain for the operation now known as “Kindertransport” through this he saved 669 children, after the war he tried to reunite families but many perished during the Holocaust. Furthemore, Oskar Schindler created a safe haven for Jews at both his enamelware and ammunition factory by forging documents that said they had special training, unlike most for-profit Jewish employed businesses at the time, there was no harsh treatment of the workers.

Throughout the Holocaust, 6 million Jewish people were murdered.1 million children were among the victims. Possibly the most profound defender of human rights in modern history, Oskar Schindler has passed all defender criteria in flying colors. Oskar Schindler was born on April 28, 1908, in the Czech Republic. He was raised in Zwittau, Sudetenland, now present day Czech Republic. In his life, he went through many failed businesses, only finding success in the war at his factories. He is credited with saving the lives of 1200 jews from almost certain extermination.

One evidence I used was how tenement life was before Jacob Riis and other reformers patched things up. Living in tenements was extremely unformatable. Tenements were dirty and crowded. Another evidence I used was how Jacob Riis fought for city dwellers. He wrote books and took picture and published them so the public can see exactly what city dwellers went through.

Journalists are very important in providing objective views of the world as a way to uncover justice. Journalists are the storytellers who represent the people whose stories are not always heard. Journalists, particularly those during the late 18th and early 19th centuries, were crucial in showing how daily life was in America’s cities.

Jumping out of planes or shooting cannons doesn’t make you a hero but, helping others and making an impact can. Jacob Krapfl put his life on the line to help protect the freedom and country he loves. Not only did he help protect the USA but he helped the Iraqis also. Doing that makes Jacob a true hero.

Rev. David Reimann was 51 years old when he passed away on January 15, 2008. He was a faithful pastor at St. John Lutheran Church in Dublin, Ohio for 17 years. He was born on August 1, 1957 in Michigan. He grew up there and moved to Dublin in 1990. He graduated from Ludington High School, Michigan, and got his Bachelor’s degree from Concordia University, Ann Arbor. He then went to The University of Michigan School of Music to receive his master’s degree and then went to Concordia Seminary in St. Louis. He was married for 28 years to his loving wife Mary Jo and had four children; Kim, Tara, Tim, and Malia.

Although he is a worthy archaeologist who's findings are remarkable and have influenced the current society of today and the future generations, many suspicions arose by scholars and archaeologists of his time and of today about the accuracy and authenticity of his findings.

When looking throughout the history of music, there is no name with a larger impact than Bach. Writing over 200 pieces throughout his 65 year life. Many people know the names of Mozart, Beethoven, and Brahms; but only a select few know the specifics about these land mark composers. “Most would say that Beethoven should have been named called ocean instead of brook” Bach in German. During this papers I will be giving a brief look into the life of one of the most prolific composer that ever lived.

Friedrich Froebel, a German educationalist, was born on April 21, 1782 in Oberweissbach, Germany. When he was only nine months old, his mother passed away. His father, a Lutheran pastor, remarried when Froebel was four years old. Unfortunately, Froebel had a very unhappy childhood and was neglected by his father and stepmother. He spent most of his childhood outside in gardens. Spending so much time outside led him to develop a love of nature, which later influenced his views on the way children should be educated.

David Hilbert was a German mathematician whose research and study of geometry, physics, and algebra revolutionized mathematics and went on to introduce the mathematic and scientific community with a series of mathematical equations that have yet to be solved. Furthermore, his study of mathematics laid the groundwork for a variety of ongoing mathematic analyses, which continue to influence the world today.
