Benjamin Franklin was an influential leader, inventor, published author, scientist, and politician during the seventeenth century. It is in part due to his discoveries in science and technology that we are able to accomplish the things we know and do today. Possibly one of Franklin’s greatest accomplishments was the development and discovery of electricity. Before his actual experiment relating to electricity, Franklin produced a theory which stated “the theory of positive and negative electricity, or plus or minus electrification (thoughtco.com)". Benjamin conducted several minor experiments before his famous “kite experiment”. Some of these experiments included using electricity to send electrical currents to different materials as well
Ben Franklin was a very curious and inventive thinker. He kept thinking about different ways to experiment with electricity so he came up with an experiment with only a few materials (wire, mobile kite, handkerchief, and two sticks).(”Benjamin Franklin and Electricity”) Franklin
The kite experiment influenced by the works of other great scientists such as Isaac Newton and Joseph Addison, Franklin wrote his most important scientific work: Experiments and Observations on Electricity. The kite experiment of Benjamin Franklin was to tie a kite with a metal skeleton thread, with its lower end attached to a key. Taking advantage of a thunderstorm, he noted that, trace the comet, electricity is led from the kite to the key, charging outlet. From this, Franklin showed that the clouds were electrically charged and lightning we see are these electrical discharges. Among the inventions of Benjamin Franklin is the lightning conductor, produced from the just mentioned discovery. The lightning rod installed quickly across the country and was a commercial success
Benjamin Franklin Benjamin Franklin is a well-known author and scientist, who helped to define lightning as electricity through his kite-and-key experiment and his subsequent analysis of the topic. He is also known for some of his inventions, such as the Franklin Stove which generates more heat using less fuel, or Bifocal glasses, which allow the user to use their glasses for both reading and looking around. Ben Franklin was born on Jan. 17, 1706, in Boston, Massachusetts.
In the1740’s, one of Ben’s english correspondents gave the Library of Philadelphia an electrical machine for the whole city to use. Since they received this donation, Ben and a couple of his friends began to take interest in electricity because that machine gave such a great amount of curiosity to all philadelphians. Franklin wrote a book on his studies on electricity in 1751, this copy went through three different languages including english. One of his experiments on electricity was trying to identify the difference between thunderbolts and electricity. Ben flew a kite in a dangerous thunderstorm in france on June tenth, 1752.
There are many role models in the world deemed smart, wise, and even revolutionary. Although only a few people have the honorary award “role model”, there is however one person who stands out and is is not just a role model, but an inspiration, which is none other than Benjamin Franklin. One of Franklin’s jobs included being a scientist where he conducted many life changing experiments which changed how society thought of science. Science experiments are not simply just for research and tests, but also for inventions, which leads to explain about Franklin’s revolutionary job as an inventor, which lead him to invent a plethora of inventions that is still used today that changed the world. Finally, along with a scientist and an inventor, he was also a prestigious politician and statesman who was mainly responsible for being a delegate who helped sign the Paris Treaty and end the Revolutionary war, which joined the United States their freedom. In conclusion Benjamin Franklin was a life changing scientist, inventor, and politician who changed this world for the better.
Born on January 17, 1706, Benjamin Franklin, one of our nation’s founding fathers, led a life full of scientific innovation and political achievement. He was born in what is now Boston to his father Josiah Franklin and was the 15th of 17 children. Ben’s early years were spent in his father’s candle after he was pulled out of his school at the age of 10. He would later end up working for his brother’s newspaper The New England Courant but, his brother refused to publish any off his articles. Ben refused to have his voice stifled, so he created the pseudonym Mrs. silence Dogood a woman who would grow quite popular for her wit having around 14 well written and witty letters. However Ben’s brother would soon find out about
It can be said that all great men have a good work, something that carries their name far past the memory of their time. These such works are written down in the papers of history in a way that no fire could burn and no water can damage. Benjamin Franklin, one of our founding fathers, wrote, “If you would not be forgotten, as soon as your dead and rotten, either write things worth reading, or do things worth writing” (Franklin). Franklin was not only a founding father, he was a well-known scientist during the American Enlightenment, experimenting with electricity as well as physics. Franklin was also an inventor, inventing the lightning rod and the bifocals.
“We must all hang together, or assuredly we shall all hang separately”. An example of one of the more memorable quotes by probably the most quoted historical figure in our Nation’s history. During the signing of the Declaration of Independence, these words were uttered by Benjamin Franklin, one of our founding fathers. More than most, Benjamin Franklin knew the desperate and perilous waters that the New Republic was entering. Although, Benjamin Franklin may have been remembered mostly for his contributions to the drafting of the Declaration of Independence, his lifetime was an example of how the ideas and opportunities of something so monumental as the creation a new nation could capture and direct the imaginations of a country so that

There are lots and lots of people in the world who are influential. Many of these people are influential because of their character and how it affects the world, what they accomplished in life, and their beliefs and what they stand up for. One man created many inventions for other people well being and he shows all of those traits: Benjamin Franklin. Benjamin franklin is influential because of his character, accomplishments, and his beliefs and what he stood up for.
Franklin's first experiment was a person rubbing on the tube while standing on wax while another person on wax is drawing the fire by touching the tube. Both people standing on wax get electricised by the person standing on the floor. The result out of Franklin's first experiment made a spark. Franklin's second experiment was the person on wax touch one another during the rubbing on the tube and and the result of Franklin's second experiment was made no spark. Franklin's third experiment touching each other while rubbing the tube and getting a weak spark there will soon be a stronger spark between the people on wax than the person on the floor.
The United States of America signed its Declaration of Independence in July of 1776. Our country had many contributors. People such as, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and John Adams, but Benjamin Franklin influenced our country in many ways. Benjamin Franklin invented bifocals and the lightning rod. Also, he discovered electricity and created theories about electricity. Also, Benjamin Franklin was the first postmaster general and helped convince the French to help our army, which led to our Continental army defeating the British at Yorktown. Today, our one-hundred dollar bill contains Benjamin Franklin’s face in honor of his contributions to our country. Although, Benjamin Franklin contributed all of these different things and we think
Have you ever wondered what famous events ad people might have led us to form our nation today? There are many ways Benjamin Franklin, the city of Boston, and the quartering act contributed so much to today’s nation.
In 1752 Franklin devised another experiment to test if lighting has an electrical charge. He flied a kite carrying a pointed wire in a thunderstorm and attempted to test his theory that atmospheric lightning is an electrical phenomenon similar to the spark produced by an electrical frictional machine (Bruno 406).
