Do schools start too early? Many school boards believe schools should start later so the student can get more sleep. Sleep experts have proven that later school start times have some benefits, but these benefits are not enough to influence a later start time in schools.
There are many arguments for why school should start later in the day, but one argument is, test scores will improve, the students will show a growth in their academics. Although test scores have improved in schools that changed their start time to a later time, it is only by two to three points, these few points are not worth disrupting a family’s hectic schedule. Is it right to take away the free time after school for a few points on test scores?

School days should start later in the day because there are many benefits to doing so. Such as improved grades, Test scores, and safer roads because teens won’t be as drowsy if they sleep 8 plus hours.
Starting school later is a good idea .It gives both teachers and students time to sleep which is what they need. The reason why they need more time is because kids need nine and a half hours of sleep.With the current school ti kids are having to wake up earlier to where they only get about seven hours.By starting school later and giving kids more sleep it has been shown to increase testscores of the students

One reason that school should start later is because it is unhealthy for children's bodies to go to school that early in the morning. If school starts before 9:00AM children develop chronic sleep deprivation. Chronic sleep deprivation cause sleepiness, clumsiness, and weight loss/gain. Some kids wake up as early as 5-6AM to get ready for school. Some kids might have to walk to school too.
Students should start school later in the morning. Starting school later will give teachers more time to prep for tests lessons and fieldtrips, gives more time to get to school as well as more time for sleep. Although some may argue that kids need the educational time as well as parents needing time to get to work, the arguments for starting school later are stronger.
Should school start later? Waking up to go to school early isn't beneficial for students. Waking up early is hard and it doesn't help. Waking up late has proven that students are more alert, test scores are better in math and reading, and your body is healthier. I don't want to wake up early just so I get bad grades and get less healthy.
