He initially had no interest at all in nature, but after some adjustments he changed his mind and gained a “relationship” with nature and, he even learned some survival skills along the way. Early in Benjamin Franklins life, he faced a big challenge that led him to make choices to shape up his influencing character. It shows us that he had to work hard from an early age. This is a big challenge for him because he had to work from an early age along with becoming better academically. Growing up in a big family with so many siblings, he had to take care of himself. His father Josiah worked in a soap factory, along with making candles. Benjamin worked with his father until he was twelve years old, until he started to despise working with his father which made his father look for alternative jobs. Knowing Benjamin and his interest in education and books, his father suggested he worked for his older bother James, who was a printer.

I was indecisive of my future career path. My mom would tell me the classic “You should be a lawyer” or “You should be a doctor.” I would go along with her idea for a couple weeks until I jumped off the bandwagon. I wasn’t passionate about either of those fields; I was interested in both math and science and as a young girl. As I got older, I became invested in technology due to my love of gaming, but I didn’t know that people devote their lives to technology until I interned.

His father quickly learned that Ben was not suited for the trade of being a candle maker. Laziness was greatly frowned upon so, Mr. Franklin desperately searched for a tread Ben could apprentice in. After exploring many different options and Mr. Franklin decided to send Ben to England to learn how to print from his Eldest brother.

Born in Colonial Boston in 1706. Ben was 1 of 17 children. His father Josiah, a soap and candle maker, married Abiah Folger, Ben was there 15th child, and last son. Ben earned his primary education at the Boston Latin School where he was enrolled when he was 8 years old. At the age of 10 Ben’s family could no longer afford it. This was his only formal education.
