BEN HER REVIEW Ben Her is a film what is about forgiveness and hate. I will be reviewing the length of the movie and how that effects the movie and second Ill review how Jesus was shown in the movies. A brief overview of the movie is as follows. Messala and Judah (Ben Her) are brothers. But when messala leaves to fight for Rome things change between them. The reason behind this is because Rome and Jerusalem don't get along. After Messala returns, there is an accident and Judah takes blame. With this, he goes on a long, awful adventure. But he eventually finds the Sheik and things start to turn up. Lastly He then enters a chariot race that he will either win and stay alive, or die trying. The length differences in the movies are one of the biggest reason on how they are different. In the 1959 film the boat scenes and when he meets a friend drag out the movie way longer than it needs to be. There are also Long scenes with a lot of side stories …show more content…
In 1959 Jesus was more of a mysterious figure. They never showed his face and also don't he him spreading the word of God. In 2016 Jesus’s face is shown and we see him in a lot of scenes not only helping people but we see him spreading the word of God. In the 1959 film we see Judah receive water from Jesus and also him when he's about to preach on the hill. But in the 2016 film we see him preaching, jumping in front of a person getting stones and we hear him talking, not only talking about God while preaching to others but on the cross when he is about to die. Having these be different gave the movie a completely different feel. I talked to people in the class and most agreed that in the 1959 movie when Jesus was hung on the cross they didn't get as emotional in watching it as in the 2016 movie. They felt like they connected to Jesus more in the 2016 because they understood and loved what he was standing
Some things are different in the book and movie. Like Sunset Towers and Money in both versions. Sunset towers is luxurious in the book but a bad place to live downtown. The money the will was worth 200 million but in the movie it is worth 20 million. Another difference is that the Wexlers moved to Sunset Towers because they had no money, but in the book they moved because they had money. In the movie Jake Wexler is paying off his debt though they have money in the book. Jake Wexler is a
When a movie comes out made after a specific novel, the screenplay eliminates most of these minute differences. For example, the letters in the beginning of the novel were depicted as high action scenes rather than in letter format.
Both the films have one thing common which is their genre. Both the films are based on romantic-comedy American film. Another thing which is common between them is the duration of their films. Both the films have approximately duration of one and half hour plus fifteen minutes. The films are based on the romantic theme but followed by a little comedy touch that can attract the viewers and can attain their attention. Both the films were a huge success of their times due to their best chemistry of the main leading characters and also by the good mixture of the comedy and romantic aspects of the filmography.
For instance, in the book Joppy knew Albright; Albright knew Todd Carter; Todd Carter knew Richard McGee as well as Matthew Terrell whereas in the movie every character denied knowing each other except Albright and Joppy. Another noticeable difference is that in the book Frank Green, Daphne’s brother ends up murdered and in the movie he lives and they both end up moving. The third noticeable difference is a character name change from the book to the movie; Matthew Teran in the book is Matthew Terrell in the movie and he ends up being murdered in the book whereas at the end of the movie he’s running for mayor. A fourth noticeable difference is the pier scene. In the book Albright and Easy meet at the Santa Monica pier and in the movie it is the Malibu pier. And the last most noticeable difference between the book and the movie is that Mouse knows Daphne Monet or shall we call her by her real name Ruby Hanks; however, in the movie the audience never finds that out. In the movie the only true thing you get to know about Daphne is that she is both black and white. Therefore, due to the many differences between the book and the movie it is confusing to the audience since it is almost like dealing with two different stories because of the plot inconsistencies.
First off, the biggest difference is the time periods of each movie. The older movie was set in Early Renaissance times. The newer movie is set in the early ninety’s. Another difference is the use of special effects. In the
There weren’t only differences there were some similarities as well like the opening scene and the overall theme of the book. As a whole, there were definitely more differences. To start off, in the book as well as both movies all three had pretty much the exact same opening scene. It started with the boat that George had made with his sick older brother Bill.
differences exist between the original play and the film. Apart from the specific techniques of lighting and
The very first difference is probably the most noticeable and important difference between the two versions of the film: the narration of Rick Deckard
The book and movie are completely different. It 's like comparing apples and oranges. (I 'm assuming that you used the newest version with Guy Pierce). The biggest difference is probably the ommision of Haydee and Maximillien and Valentine (three of the main character) and the addition of Jacapo. Jacapo does is in the book, but he is never a large character.
difference is in the 1968 version, Mercutio is stabbed under Romeo's arm, which kills him.On the other hand, in the 1996 version, Mercutio is stabbed with a shard of glass, under Romeo's arm. One more reason is how Romeo fights with Tybalt. In the 1996 version, they run through the town fighting with their swords. Tybalt charges Romeo, but romeo stabs and kills him. On the contrary, in the 1996 version, Romeo and Tybalt get into a car fight. They crash and they fight with guns. Romeo ends up shooting Tybalt and letting him die.
Even though the movie kept a few similarities, much of the film was different. An example of this would have to be the relationship between Forrest and Jenny. As seen in the movie, Jenny and Forrest have a close relationship from grade school to high school. Then as the movie progresses you see the transformation of their friendship slowly becomes more at the times Forrest is close to Jenny. But when they are far apart it seems like it is only Forrest who is still caring
For example, the reader is introduced to Helen as a baby. Meanwhile, in the motion picture the watcher is introduce to Helen when she’s six years old. This a major difference because the reader views how Helen started unlike the watcher of the movie. Another example, in the story Helen is pictured as a filthy mess, but in the film she is always in a nice set of clothes. This is a very important change because it shows how a person depicts Helen. Lastly, Annie is haunted by nightmares of her brother at the State Court house. In the book their is great deal of flashbacks in the story, but in the movie their is only one. This shows how Annie had to fight the voices in her head and the guilt of her “ killing” her brother. Even with these differences, it still tells the amazing story of Helen
To begin with the first difference between the movie and the novel is poor character development, and how the character are shown differently in both the novel and the movie. When Gene goes to Leper’s home town, he finds him shell shocked. When Gene gets the telegram letter and goes to
There have been numerous films that depicting Jesus that have been made since the early twentieth century. Some of these movies include King of Kings, The Gospel according to John, Jesus Christ Superstar and many more. These movies helped to convey to their audience a glimpse of who Christ was. As time went on, the Jesus movies closely resemble the Jesus in the bible. It was not until the early twenty-first century when The Passion of the Christ was released in movie theaters that people really realized what type of death Jesus went through. The passion of Jesus Christ was a very controversial movie made in 2004 when it was released because how realistic Jesus’ death scene was. This was the first Jesus film at that time that had a horrific and gory death scene. Recently, a new movie came out called Son of God, this also is another controversial movie because it is the first movie to show all of the major miracles that Jesus performed, such as the feeding of the five thousand, and walking on water. Both The Passion of the Christ and the Son of God try to contrary who Jesus was according to the Bible, yet both of these movies do this in a unique way. In the movie Son of God, there is more emphasis on Jesus’ life rather than his death. Through the miracles that Jesus performed and kindness he showed to people, we as viewers glimpse of what type of person Jesus was. The movie: The Passion of the Christ focused more on Jesus’ death rather than his life. Both The Passion of the
Normally, when a movie is made about a story in a book the two stories are not exactly the same. The movie is adjusted by adding small details or leaving out some parts in order to make the story more
