In general, child care jobs involve caring for children while their parents are away. Care may be needed for children of various ages, from infancy through the mid to late teens. Care may be set in an individual's home, in a private group facility, in school, or in a public facility as part of a government program. Child care professionals may have additional responsibilities having to do with education, health care, or children with special needs.
Professionalism is making knowledge based on research-based early childhood practices. It is taking each opportunity you can better the learning of each child and both the personal and professional growth for the benefit of the children and families. To hold a professional relationship with the family and children the teacher should protect the confidentiality of the family and children, conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times, advocate needs of each family, and lastly attend meetings, training courses, and conferences.
I believe that as an early childhood educator my goal will be to promote the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of each child. I also believe that play should be the base of learning since children learn best by doing. I believe that a balance between teacher-directed and child-initiated activities is essential balance can be developed by using the developmentally appropriate practice approach, which means that activities should be “appropriate for each child and relevant to the child’s ability, needs and interests, also including the child’s family and being respectful to the child’s culture.
In a culturally component childcare setting it is fundamental to understand the cultures, languages, traditions, beliefs and values of a child, as all cultural traits vary. This will help build and maintain relationship between the educator and child and the educator and parents/guardians.

Receiving children into settings can be very busy therefore it is very important to have a clear system put in place to welcome children into the setting. It is important that the doors are kept close all the times and that the practitioners are made aware of the child’s legal guardians. Many settings have doorbells or buzzers that indicate when a door has been left open or is being held open. In my setting we have a buzzer which allows us to talk to the person before we open the door and we ensure the door is locked at all times. Most childcare settings have resisters in place, so when a child arrives to the setting in the morning the parents are required to sign their child in by writing down the time and their signature and their relationship
Many child care centers employ professionally-trained teachers who understand child development, expected learning goals and realistic outcomes. For instance, child care professionals know when children should know the alphabet and when they should be able to count to 10; they can also create a variety of lessons to reinforce math, reading and other
I currently do not work in a daycare setting however, I have had some experience in building relationships with the children at my Practicum placement. One thing I always did was greet the children by their name when I arrived or they arrived. At times when I arrived to my practicum placement the children would be having free play at this time I would go up to the children and ask them questions such as what are you building, what is that, what are you drawing. Often times each child has been eager to talk. Having communication with each and every child in your care is not only extremely important to get to know the children but also is key to building relationships with the children. Another thing I did to build relationships with the children at my practicum placement is play with them. During free play I would walk around to each center
Childcare is not just changing diapers and playing with toys. I know this because I have been working in childcare for over six years. A person wanting to enter the childcare field always has to pass the obvious requirements, a background check, and mental illness check. Before they start there is more they need to know before they are ready to care for a child.
A child care worker is a person who changes infants and toddlers diapers helps organize activities for children and supervises children's health and safety. These workers also help prepare meals for children, keep their hygienes good, and take kids to after school activities when parents cannot. There are many child care jobs such as a babysitter, nanny, teacher helper, and even a preschool teacher. Many child care workers work in law enforcements such as CPS. (Child Protective Services) They respond to child abuse and neglect; protecting children from harm and supporting their family. CPS get involved when a child is being abused or in a harmful environment. Child care tries their best to help families’ and children with abusive relationships
I decided to learn more about childcare workers as it is a popular profession and I learned a lot. Some of their tasks are to maintain a safe environment for multiple children, they must know the English language such as knowing how to spell, pronunciation and knowing the meaning of words as well as grammar and know the rules of composition because they need to communicate to guardians related issues to their children. They must also resolve conflicts and negotiated them with others by getting information and making sure that the solution will be appropriate to the child and their families.
My first major goal in life is raising an educated, culturally adjusted, empathetic child. In this life there are many people that are rude and do not take into consideration other people. I want to ensure that my child is not one of those kinds of people. I want my child to be able to understand how different situations work and be understanding of others. At 11 years old he already has an understanding I could not have even hoped for and knows that each situation can be different. I want to continue to guide him on this path, so he may make a difference even if it is in one person’s life.
