It is very important to me to have a positive attitude that transfers to my coworkers and patients. I think it is very important to use the knowledge I have in my area of expertise to instruct others where it is needed. I would like to be able to say I gave the highest quality of care that I could at the end of each day. I realize that not everything will always be perfect or smooth, and there is only so much I can do. However, many of the rough patches can be eased with hard work and a good outlook. I want to be able to form great relationships with my colleagues as well as the client and facilitate everyone working together. Nursing is a respectable profession and I hope to contribute my own compassion to the entire community.

Nurses have to be prepared to react rapidly to emergencies and different circumstances that emerge. Often, health care work is just the reaction to sudden occurrences, and nurses should dependably be set up for the unforeseen. Remaining on their feet, keeping their head cool in a crisis, and a calm attitude are incredible qualities in a nurse. Respect goes a long way. Nurses respect people and rules.

Being empathetic and caring while being able to use critical thinking skills are a must. While also being able to demonstrate the ability to multitask and work under severe pressure both emotionally and sometimes physically. Always remain professional and keep emotions balanced. With my career goal is to become a nurse; just not ole any nurse, a great one. My strengths are very important to have. Faith is needed to help get through tough days and to also spiritually help your patients. I feel like whenever you do a task it should be done with integrity. Being a nurse, you have to be strong-minded and also able to heal and comfort mentally, emotionally, and physically, all great signs of a leader. You always have to remember that you can’t always do everything alone. Teamwork is very important in the healthcare field. Each job is important and is connected to one another. Communication is the key to many careers and very important to nursing because you have to build positive relationships with the people and patients around you.

The third option is a diploma from a an approved nursing program. A BSN takes about 4 years to complete, and a AND takes 3-4 years to complete. If you go for you Bachelors Degree the school usually requires you to take an extra classes in physical and social science. Since nursing consists of talking a lot, ones communication skills should be very well. They must be able to understand what patients are saying, what orders are given by the doctors, and how to successfully chart ones activity. An important trait is being able to be emotionally stable. It is crucial in order to survive all the ups and downs of emotions nurses must experience. For instance, if one has become good friends with a patient and they pass away. It would be hard, but they would need to pull through and put their job first. For nurses to succeed, they should have good physical endurance. Not everyone has the calling to be a nurse but I am one of the lucky ones to be called to this wonderful profession. Being a nurse has its ups and downs like any other profession, but being able to make a difference in someone’s life is an absolute blessing. It took me a long time to reach my ultimate goal of becoming a registered nurse but I made it with a lot of help from my family.
