This is my third back to back to back race weekend since coming back from injury and I am still just a shell of the racer I was last year, but it was very important to me to do both BattleFrog East coast Canada events this year, so I wasn’t going to miss it unless I couldn’t race at all. • Registration and Festival: Registration was done different than the other BattleFrog races I have done, but because it was early and registrations were low, it was still nice and fast. Typically, with BattleFrog, racers can go to any registration line and register, but this time it was done like Spartan USA and racers had to locate their bib numbers on a list and select the correct registration line. The festival area was setup a little odd, with some sections far apart …show more content…
The course pretty much included obstacles I have seen before at my other BattleFrog races and including “60 Degrees” which did have one minor modification from last year, it now has square bar sections replacing the round ones. I have always been a big fan of this inverted bars obstacle and was happy to see it still in the obstacle arsenal. Other obstacles included “Confident Climb” which is a high cargo climb much like the obstacle of the same name used by several US special forces training courses. Platinum Rig # 1 and Platinum Rig # 2 where both on the course and played a major role in deciding both the male and female podiums. Some of the other staple BattleFrog obstacles that were part of the course included “Ramp Walls”, “8’ walls”, “12’ Ladder Walls”, “Normandy Jacks, “6’ Walls”, and the always challenging “Wedge Walls” that is a very challenging angled wall to travers across. Also on the course was the “Rope Climb” and the always challenging and intimidating “12’ Rope Walls Climb” this is an obstacle that requires both skill and confidence in being high up which I personally think is a great obstacle for racers to
The rough times, the hungry days , the cold nights they suffered through. According to the background essay, it was winter at camp Valley Forge in Philadelphia during 1777-1778. George Washington led a continental army to train soldiers to fight in the american revolution against Britain. If you had been a soldier in Washington’s army would you have given up and left? I know if I were a soldier at Valley Forge I would quit because of the cold winters, numerous amounts of deaths and illnesses and also the harsh conditions.
The war had begun in the spring of 1861 and somewhat ominously for the Union.
The importance of the 1864 election cannot be overemphasized. The fact that Lincoln faced a tough re-election and ran against his former Union General George McClellan, the voting statistics were 212 to 21. One of the reasons that Lincoln got elected for his second term was all of the Union victories, including William T. Sherman’s capture of Atlanta in September. This presidential victory for Lincoln, changed the racial future of the United States.
The First Battle of Bull Run took place on July 21, 1861 in Virginia. The Union's was slow in positioning themselves, so that gave Confederates time to arrive. General McDowell ordered the Union army to attack. The two inexperienced armies ran into many difficulties. The Union plan was far too complex for the young soldiers to implement and the Confederate army had troubles communicating. However, the superior numbers of the Union began to push the Confederates back. It looked like
It's August 31st and the aftermath for the second battle of Bull Run starts now. The confederacy wins a fair match against the union called the Second Battle of Bull Run (Second battle of Manassas). The confederacy wins by general Jackson’s brilliant method for holding the stressful lines until Major general Longstreet comes. Therefore, he was also called “Stonewall” Jackson that day. John Pope, the union general, loses because of his hesitation to attack. General Longstreet marches in along with 25,000 other men to reinforce their counterattack. John Pope doesn't even realize that general Longstreet has arrived until it was too late. The union gets pushed further and further back up against the border of Henry House Hill. The union strongly
The Confederacy persisted through another year of war as societal rules of the South became lax. Scarlett became flirtatious again, as if she was never married to Charles, as if she were not widowed. Rhett called upon her quite often and bought her affection with presents. I believe that Rhett knew to get Scarlett, he would have to sweeten the pot. She would never have taken Rhett without his money and gifts to her. The summer of 1863 came, and the Battle of Gettysburg with it. For the first time in her life, Scarlett felt sorrow for another. Almost every boy she flirted, danced, or batted her eyelashes at was dead. But that feeling of sorrow quickly disappeared when Melanie cried to Scarlett about wanting to have Ashley’s baby. Even though
The Battle of Lexington was a battle over land in the New World in 1775. The Colonists traveled to this New World for a better life away from England. Some came over for religious freedom, money, or they were escaping because they were criminals. This battle was between the British Red Coats and The Patriots or the Colonist who rebelled against the King of England. “The shot that heard clear around the world” was the start of this battle. Many people still have doubts about who fired first. Who do you think shot first and began the battle? I believe the British fired at the Patriots first.
It was a fun day in New York at Yankees stadium The Home team (My favorite baseball team) the New York Yankees were up against the Toronto Blue Jays. I was wearing my Aaron Judge shirt sitting in my seat when the game started the first two innings was scoreless. Second, Aaron Judge comes up with two guys on base and hits a double scoring both runs. Then, I look at the jumbotron and see Aaron’s calm smiling face. The next few innings was intense the Yankees and the Blue Jays battle for the lead. Next, the seventh inning stretch comes around and we all rise from our seats and sing.
On March 11, 1862, Lincoln made the decision to remove McClellan as General-in-Chief, demoting him to command only the Army of the Potomac. Chief of Staff, Peyton March, sent a telegram to McClellan in refence to his orders and instructed him to speak first to Governor Dennison. Suspicious of this message McClellan refused the invitation to Washington or to speak to Dennison. Later, the General wrote to his wife that the rascals of Washington were after him again and that if he could come out of this, he would never get himself in this position again. Because of this refusal, he learned of his demotion via the National Intelligencer, a Washington newspaper. Although many leaders in the government continued to resent the commander, he was still
There were all sorts of camps spread-out through Washington D.C, none of them in very good shape, looking more like old shanty towns. The safest camps were located around Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall, which was actually made up of three joined bases, Fort Myer and Fort McNair (both US Army) and Henderson Hall USMC. There were four camps that surrounded the Joint Base that went from bad to horrendous. They were camps Alpha through Delta, Camp Alpha being the closest to Fort Myer’s main gate and Delta being the closest to the primary gate to Henderson Hall.
For years leapfrog has sold reading items to help children learn to read and help with basic math skills like counting, adding, subtracting, etc. Leapfrog claims will help children with it’s 32-minute program. The problem is that children will not focus on a television show for thirty minutes. Especially if the episode skips around from plot to counting without an explanation. Leapfrog was disappointing and hard to watch. Not only was it non-educational but it was poorly done. I can tell that parents do not watch this show with their children sincei am an adult I could not fully understand what leapfrog’s intent was. I got lost when they were showing children how to count and never said why there were counting and why numberland exsisted.
My role in the research process of the battle analysis brief was to determine how communications (C3) affected the actions of the fighting forces during the battle. First, I defined the communications concept or what communication systems, both fighting forces used during the battle. The communication systems consisted of “runners” and verbal commands for both forces. The US forces also utilized the drums to start or end offensive efforts. The drummer was Americus Hammock, an African American slave that later was freed for his participation in the battle.
How hard is it to do a rc rock crawl competition? It's tricky to some people but easy to others. It’s like cooking some people can some can’t some people really struggle. I did good at this competition I placed 8 out of 50-60 people my uncle placed 3rd and won a trophy .
Progression in Battleborn turns out to be tedious due to the gameplay turning out to be largely repetitive. After you've finished all of the Story Missions and then played through the three multiplayer modes (Incursion, Meltdown and Capture), Battleborn becomes stale fast.
Fights are still restricted to a 2D plane though, but thanks to some improved visual effects the game is still looking good for its age. The visuals not only look sharper, but the backgrounds effects for the super moves have also been spruced up. It obviously still looks a bit dusty compared to some of the newer titles, but then again the price is also very reasonable. There are ten stages that serves as the backdrop for your battles and while they are not exactly packed with detail there are a couple of memorable ones.
