You probably know the superheroes of our generation. Superman, Flash, Iron Man, Thor, but you know, most people love Batman the best. 71% of people prefer Batman over Superman. This is probably because of his perseverance. Average people like us WISH we could recover from such a tragic background with such an intimidating attitude. His parents were murdered in front of his own eyes just for a few hundred bucks. It influenced his life and he seeked revenge. For several years, he traveled abroad learning several kinds of martial arts, but also learning how to make and use tech. Soon, he realized that revenge may have seemed right, but it really isn’t really However, there is one person who maybe even has 30% of that Batman attitude, and that is Squeaky, Hazel Elizabeth Deborah Parker from the story, “Raymond’s Run” by Toni Cade Bambara. Her parents are the kind that do not support her in her passion but she does not give up. She just keeps coming back with a “over my dead body” attitude. This attitude can represent another trait that she shares with Batman: their love for equality. She wants everyone to be treated equally despite their differences. Her brother and her are both black, but to make matters worse, her brother is disabled. Her basic traits show the theme that, “No matter what differences you may have, unity can always be achieved. Similarly, this essay is going to compare and contrast to the song “Heal the World”, by Michael Jackson, because it represents the unity and strength in togetherness despite the differences we may have. …show more content…
Like in the song, “Heal the World” , by Michael Jackson, he says
To be Batman takes a lot of courage.” This quote conveys how vital courage is to the importance of the play because it represents how valuable and strong a human characteristic can
Batman was pushed to become a hero through tragic means. Batman was born to an upper class family with his father being a doctor, and also the fact that his father had “inherited the Wayne family fortune built through real estate and industry” (Tragic Hero) According to Tom Bondurant is his article “Becoming the Bat: The History of Batman’s Many Origins”, it is revealed through the Batman comics that when Batman was younger, he and his parents were attacked while they were walking home. In the process of being mugged, both his mom and dad were killed. Batman is left alone with the bodies of his parents, angry and bitter, and at this time vows
Heroic heroes, Batman and Gilgamesh, perform numerous brave deeds. Before Bruce becomes Batman, he receives expert training from the League of Shadows high in the mountains where he learns how to disappear, face his fears, and become more than a man. In the Iliad, Achilles has the same concept of a special weapon, his armor. In both of Batman and Gilgamesh’s’ lives, they experience a tremendously traumatic event that changes their outlook on the world and life. Batman, Bruce Wayne, watches his parents be murdered in front of his own eyes as a young child and then blames himself for their death for his entire life, until he is taught to forget the past and make the future. Gilgamesh also had someone close to him die, his best friend.
When he witnessed his parents being murdered at a very young age, Bruce Wayne became motivated by revenge to combat the same evil forces of the city that took away what he loved so much.
Batman is a depiction of hope. Batman was the answer to a lot of people’s problems in a place where nobody felt safe like they should in their home. He was like the rain after a long, dry spell for
There are two ways Jackson went about acknowledging the world. His music video shows the pain and the many issues signifying he hears the people affected cries. Or a different perspective could be, needing the world to change to be more united and stop the hate. Jackson expressed the issues in an artistic form that got the point across and made it where his voice was for all who could not be
This phrase allows us to understand his real feelings and what fuels his realistic and yet fascinating tales of human suffering and assimilation into the contemporary social standards. Throughout his musical career Michael Jackson sang about his individualized experiences as well as an observation regarding human suffering, racial prejudice, and social assimilation challenges thus reminding the world that we are equal. Throughout his life, Jackson struggled as a black artist particularly back in the 20th century when he rose from Motown and participated in Off the Wall documentary (Johnson, 2016). He gained recognition based on his unending interest in the black culture given
Alfred, his trusted right-hand man, once said, “Vengeance blackens the soul, Bruce. I’ve always feared that you would become that which you fought against. You walk the edge of that abyss every night, but you haven’t fallen in and I thank heaven for that.” But, these are all things that make Batman who he is.
To people that have comic book illiteracy, Batman and Superman would seem like they would be pretty similar to each other, which is true but only to a degree. They have similar names, outfits, and both live two different lives, etc. On the other hand, when it comes down to what makes these two men special, they are polar opposites. They have differences in backgrounds, powers, motivations, and in what makes them popular among fans. Despite their similarities in outward appearances, Batman and Superman are exceedingly distinct from one another.
In addition to this, another downfall is the loss of childhood sweetheart, Rachel Dawes by Two-Face. She was the only one outside Bruce Wayne’s inner circle that knew who he truly was, and how he felt about his way and life. As a result of her death, not only does he want revenge on Two-Face, but he tries to compensate for the void that was created by her loss. He does this by starting many failed relationships that turned sour such as those with Poison Ivy and Catwoman, to name a few. These are illustrative of the pessimistic demeanor that Batman has towards the outside because of what he has seen firsthand, and how he reacted to it.
It is similar to Diana in Wonder woman, when she was first in England she had to hide the fact that she was a demi god who could wipe out most of England alone, because this would frighten humanity and they wouldn’t trust her, but when she leaves for the front, she can be herself, hopeful and protective of humanity. They also both goth through a very similar transition stage where they realise that it may be harder than they originally thought to complete their mission, such as Batman travelling through the barrows and realise that Gotham’s crime use this as a breeding ground for more crime, and then Diane when she first arrives at the front and sees all the death and carnage that the war has brought, this changes the both of them, it makes Batman more cynical of his ability to fight Gotham’s crime alone, and it drives Wonder Woman more to find and kill Ares. This is what makes these movies Dark versions of
Batman acts out of revenge. He takes down villains because he feels a duty to avenge his parent and eradicate all wrong doing he possibly can. Batman is also human in that he cares about the people of Gotham. He has emotion. When it comes down to it Batman does not kill anyone when he easily can but instead he believes it's better not to.
These are themes that Nolan uses in the films. They afford the audience a sense of connection as they too are victims of life’s evils. Through these themes Nolan creates characters that offer audiences a chance to see themselves and their most private thoughts reflected on the screen. He gives his characters ‘real’ characteristics. Batman’s fear of bats in Batman Begins is an index of the vulnerability, pain and physical threats that people feel and experience.
Batman is one of the many fictional superheroes which appears in the “American comic books” that is published by the DC comics. The character is a secret identity for Bruce Wayne, the only heir to Wayne Enterprises. Bruce Wayne swore an oath of vengeance when he witnessed the death of his parents;Thomas Wayne and Martha Wayne (Diamond, 2015). Bat man combats criminals in Gotham: a fictional city, with assistance from various characters, for example, his butler Alfred and Gordon; Gotham city police commissioner. Unlike many of the superheroes characters, Batman possesses no powers .Bruce Wayne trained himself intellectually and physically .it is from dedication to training he possessed the useful traits of physical prowess, martial arts skills, detective skills and indomitable will to fight for justice. Though his motive is to combat crime and protect people of Gotham city from criminals, the justice system in most of the times views Batman as a villain and vigilante. He can inflict fear to Gotham city criminals thereby bringing calmness to the city. I identify myself with the Batman character through his selfless will for justice, his strong determination to do good
This personality can help him to find the ways to complete whatever he thinks that it is important. For instance, Batman is catching the criminals continuously as this is what he wanted to do when he started to be Batman. Batman is a rule-oriented person. This can be good because Batman would not easy to be seduced by any person with any offer as he barely break his own rules. Hence, Batman is considered as a thoughtful person as he would think about any possible consequences before he takes any action. And yet, this may become his weakness. It is because he would be inflexible in his life whenever he is facing problems and situations. For example, a few people died because of Batman indirectly. It is because he could not fulfill the Joker’s request which he has to show his real face to the public. He suffered and almost surrender to the
