There are only a handful of people who run towards the problem to solve it in hopes to save someone’s life. These people are risking their own lives to save someone in need of aid, all without any money, fame, or endorsements in the future. Mike Dilbeck put our thoughts of a hero on paper, and captured them perfectly. He speaks of a hero as someone who "transforms compassion into a heroic action." He says that a hero will take risks for their cause and volunteered willingly for service for someone else. Finally a hero doesn't expect gifts and material gains in return. Two heroes fit these guidelines. First, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, a women's rights activist in the 1840s, argued for women, she made silenced people finally have a voice, and a loud one at that. Second, is Malala Yousafzai, a fighter for education, she took bullets for going to school and speaking out, but her opinions are far from being quiet. Heroism can be defined by those who are courageous and continuously strive for the greater good. As seen on Batman, a young man who leaves his luxurious lifestyle to salvage his community from evildoers, “It's not who I am underneath... but what I *do*... that defines me.” During a dark time at Gotham, Bruce Wayne defended the peace and impartiality of the residents of his community. Many people believe that the act of courage lies within each individual, and these acts of courage can be brought out by three possible cause. First, provocation. Often times this is seen in movies where the villain kidnaps and threatens to kill the hero’s family. More often than not, the hero finds it within himself to put aside his fears and overcome near impossible odds to save the day. He was a hero, a hero to us all. He was quite the creature, a creature of pure goodness, yet his appearance screamed off evil. His face was bat-like, symbolizing how people thought of him. As a child, he wasn’t given much, he survived on burnt toast and scraps of dry chicken. One day, his mother returned from the overworld – a world nobody must speak of. She gave him a Batman comic book. “Look,” she said, “Being like a bat isn’t so bad.” That was the last that he saw of his mother. Seven years later at the age of 15, his father told him to do the daily chores. Quickly, the teenager grabbed the rusty shovel and a garden hose. He went outside. Turning to the igniter on the hose, he turned it on. Out spewed a gallon or so of pure lava. The flowers
