On October 26th Barnaby Joyce, Australia’s prime minister, lost his seat for “allegedly” being a New Zealander. Later it was confirmed that he was. Joyce states that he “had no reason to believe he was a citizen of any other country”. This took place in Sydney, Australia. The problem with this situation is that “in section 44 of the country’s constitution” it says that you cannot be a citizen of any other country but Australia in order to be part of the country’s government. This affects many people including the citizens of Australia and their constitution. The constitution could be changed in order for this controversy to be ended. Also because this is 2017 and in Australia “a quarter of Australia's population was born overseas”. If the constitution

Adam Farmer’s journey to find his identity began the day his family was stripped of their identities. They received new names, new jobs and a new life. On Adam’s expedition from Vermont to Massachusetts, he faced challenges and experienced multiple occasions of self-doubt. Although his bike journey was a difficult one, the real journey was the one he went though to rediscover his past. The many tapes that consisted of sessions with a man named Brint about “Adam Farmer’s” past were undated, resulting in the uncertainty of when they were recorded. These tapes contained information the government was searching for and were later on locked away in a government building for an unknown amount years. Now for the first time since these tapes were concealed from the public, government officials were permitted to listen to the information.
Billy Gene Phillips Sr. was born to Clara Faye and Carl James Phillips on January 15, 1958 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. My grandfather grew up in Oklahoma City for the most part of his life. He was raised with three siblings, James Dean Phillips, Donna Faye Conway, and Virginia Ann Terry. He was the second to youngest child in his family. At the age of sixteen he met my grandmother Bonnie Walker, which later married on February 6, 1976 at the age of nineteen. They lived in Dibble, Oklahoma, where they raised five kids, David Phillips, Billy Phillips Jr., Bonnie Phillips, Regenia Phillips, and Virginia Phillips. He had seven grandchildren. In 2003 he fought his son Billy Phillips Jr. In a custody battle for three of his grandchildren, because he didn't believe they were given the best life.
On November 21, 1990, the day before Thanksgiving, Bill Irwin became the last person that year to complete the entire length of the world’s longest continuously marked footpath – the Appalachian Trail. Citizenship laws are laws that state how Australian are considered a citizen, their rights, and responsibilities and how they are meant to be treated. In 1901 when the Constitution was first written at first, Indigenous citizens of Australia, women, and immigrants didn't have the rights as they have today. Other laws were passed and changes to the Constitution was made, they were given these rights through these things.

The Nationality and Citizenship Act 1948, initially recognised citizenship as formal members of the community, involving reciprocal rights and obligations which united all, whilst respecting individual’s diversity. This act was amended frequently due to the progression of society and inherent multicultural values promoted by the People of Australia Policy. It was repealed by the Australian Citizenship Act 2007, which strengthened the citizenship application, residence requirements and altered provisions resumption, and renounced
Many LGBTQ teens and young adults all across America are suicidal and have no one to talk to. In this situation, they can turn to the Trevor Project, a 24-hour lifeline for LGBTQ teens and young adults who are feeling suicidal. Many LGBTQ teens are bullied at school and people won’t stand up for them because they don’t want to be bullied. The emotions bottle up and eventually some of them turn to suicide. Instead of going through with it, they are encouraged to call Trevor’s suicide lifeline. I want to get involved in this organization because I think it is important that everyone, no matter how people view them, realize they are worth more than society makes them out to be.
Today Australians acknowledge the rights of everyone, a democratic system of government by the whole population or all the eligible members of a state, typically through elected representatives. Australia, the rights of everyone, furthermore the long term Australia is in independent nation and since one of the most important aspects of nationhood is the people, ourb> head of state should be an Australian whose first allegiance is to Australia, not Britain. I have three main points I wish to make clear these are that citizens of Australia have favoured the change for many years now and, secondly Australia can benefit socially and economically, thirdly, support grows every year and is virtually exponentially, so do you want this change now or 100 years away?
This has come from the Australian community and international human rights monitors who have stated that “There are still areas in which the domestic legal system does not provide an effective remedy to persons whose rights under the [International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights] have been violated … [Australia] should take measures to give effect to all Covenant rights and freedoms.” There hasn’t only been a recent push for a Bill of Rights, Former Chief Justice Sir Anthony Mason wrote in 1997 that “Australia's adoption of a Bill of Rights would bring Australia in from the cold, so to speak, and make directly applicable the human rights jurisprudence which has developed internationally and elsewhere. That is an important consideration in that our isolation from that jurisprudence means that we do not have what is a vital component of other constitutional and legal systems, a component which has a significant impact on culture and thought, and is an important ingredient in the emerging world order that is reducing the effective choices open to the nation state”. Brian Galligan who is an academic expert on citizenship stated that “the old confidence in the effectiveness of parliamentary responsible government and the common law for protecting human rights has been undermined by more realistic accounts of the weakness of parliament and the increasingly residual domain of common law compared with the plethora of statutory laws.” The answer to whether Australia needs to adopt a Bill of Rights in order to protect Australian citizens is simple… yes and
When you think of the “land down under” you don’t really think of the kind of government they have. I chose to write about the Australian government because I really don’t hear much about Australia. It currently has a pretty interesting story to tell when it comes to their government. I became a bit interested in Australian politics when I saw a political animated cartoon on the internet that depicted Kevin Rudd, the last Prime Minister, on a news television show and it was quite humorous. I am going to give a quick history lesson on Australia then go into how the government formed and came to be. Then I will talk about the Australian constitution, the Australian arms of government, their federal system, political parties and Australia’s
We believe that Australia is highly democratic, but there is nothing democratic about someone inheriting a position of power because they happened to be born in that blood
