After the trial occurred the jury was at a deadlock. The court ruled this as a mistrial on the deadlock count and ordered a psychosexual evaluation for Bar-Jonah. Dr. Eric Sweitzer, a Massachusetts counselor, testified that Bar-Jonah was not a sexually dangerous person. For Bar-Jonah’s defense they argue that police did not have a particular reason to conduct a search and so any evidence gained during the searches must be suppressed. His defense also argues the searches performed on December 15 and 17th, 1999 were improper and exceeded the scope of the search warrants so they mustn't be used as evidence against him. Although the defense made many efforts to maintain Bar-Jonah’s innocence, the court made a final decision and gave Bar-Jonah a total of 130 years in prison. He was found guilty on February 25th, 2002, and the ruling was final in December of 2004. Bar-Jonah later died in jail on April 13th, 2008 from a heart attack since he was overweight. In conclusion, Bar-Jonah is a very sick person who eventually got what he deserved. He was a cannibal, sexual offender, kidnapper, molester, and overall a twisted killer. Who knows how many unknown people he has hurt, tortured, or killed and eaten. But now that he is dead and gone he won’t be able to hurt anyone

Miscarriages of justices occur due to many variables including faulty or wrong confessions, faulty identifications, wrongful DNA evidence, and the police’s overreach of power. On February 9, 1978, a student from the College of William and Mary, located in Williamsburg, Virginia was sexually assaulted at gunpoint. When the police arrived at the scene, she described her assailant as an African-American male about 5’6 in height and weighing around 145.
