Bad Unicorn
I liked Bad Unicorn because it was a science fiction and an adventure book. These genres really capture my imagination and I really enjoyed the plot. I also really liked feeling as though I was a part of the book.
My strongest trait is my love for learning. I have always loved learning new things and sharing what I have learned with my friends and family. I have also found that I use my knowledge when I travel. When I was in Paris for the first time, I liked reading the signs on the Eiffel Tower and sharing the information that I learned with my family. I was also learning French a bit and really enjoyed trying to read the signs and menus around France.
I am most proud of applying to Junior Wings where I got to travel to

I haven’t danced in a while but I will hopefully pick it back up again soon. In elementary and middle school I was a part of theater productions brought on by both the community and school. Through fifth grade to middle school I have been playing music. I played the trumpet in fifth, sixth, and seventh grade but took up the french horn half way through seventh when I played both trumpet and horn. Through school I got to participate in Music In The Parks where my Music class and I got to play for judges at the Santa Cruz Beach Board Walk. I am very happy that we won all around for both sixth and seventh grade. I also enjoy hobbies like painting, sewing, and writing. I am very proud of the book that I wrote through the Young Authors club at my school hosted by author Vanessa Diffenbaugh. Right now I am very interested in sports. When I was in elementary I took horse back riding lessons at Pebble Beach. In sixth grade I was on the school basketball team. That was very enjoyable but sadly I could not do it in seventh grade because of an eggshell fracture in the growth plate of my foot. During spring in seventh grade I played lacrosse through Tribe Monterey, which just so happened that we practiced at York School. I have also been a part of leadership activities through both the community and school. In elementary I joined my brother in a group called Friendship Group. This group was a group of autistic kids that my brother and I got to hang out with. It was so much fun being able to hang out with them and make even more friendships. In sixth grade I was a part of the Colton Cares Club at Walter Colton where we researched nonprofits in the Monterey County, chose a select few, and were able to give them a check, thanks to the Monterey Rotary, to help their cause. It was really fun and very gratifying to be able to make a difference in our community. During sixth
I have been in a few school activities. One of the main activities that I have been involved in is Color guard. Since my sophomore year, I have been on the guard and participating in all of the competitions with the band. It is a great way to get involved, make new friends, and create new experiences. I am also in my school’s National Honor Society which is an organization that consists of the top academic scholars. We do volunteer work and do activities that display integrity. We have done blood drives as well as packaged food for Kids Against Hunger. That is another organization that people can do to help package food for children across seas that don’t have any source of nourishment. I am an active thespian which is a group of sorts that is dedicated to the fine arts. I have been one since my freshmen year and have been either stage manager or assistant stage manager for two plays and three musicals. My junior year as well as this year I was involved in National
Now comes the part about me. I am currently a senior at Mexico High School. I am a very busy person. I work at Taco Bell, and am in dance, gymnastics, cross-country, dance, band, and FFA. I have been dancing at Janet’s Dance Studio for 14 years and been doing gymnastics for ten years. In band, I play the flute and am a section leader and first chair.
I have been involved in many activities through my high school years. I ran cross country for 4 years then became a manager, which means I still ran at practice but at meets I helped the coaches with various things. I’ve been playing softball since I was 5 and have always loved it. From fifth to twelfth grade I have been on student council and working to make our school a better place. This year I became the vice president of National Honor Society. Getting to work with the community and helping with NHS has changed my life.
Throughout my high school career, I have come to be heavily involved in activities within my high school. I was inducted into National Honor Society in the school year of 2015-2016. I came to be involved in the Drama Club for all four years of my high school career, along with being in Student Council all four years as well. In Student Council, I held the position of treasurer my senior year, and was on the executive board. The music department also has been one of the biggest programs I have come to be involved in within my high school career. I have played alto saxophone in concert band all four years of high school, and played alto saxophone my senior year in jazz band. Along with being in both concert band and jazz band, I was also part
Introduction: Unicorns are real in a way. By in a way, I mean it’s how you think of it. Do you believe in unicorns are not? I do, but it’s all about if you do.
Throughout high school, I have participated in numerous school sports and activities. Cross county had a tremendous impact on my life and the lessons I have learned from the sport I will perpetually cherish. Another activity I have been a part of for three years is yearbook. I am the senior editor of the yearbook and have, thus, learned to engage my leadership skills. Additionally, choir is an activity I am passionate about. Singing is an escape from the chaos of my day and I revel in the joy it brings me. Furthermore, my two friends and I brought forth the idea of a cross country ski club at our school, and we initiated its formation.
Another one of my passions is dance. Since the age of three I have been dancing. Whether it is on stage, at a competition, or just in front of my family, I found a love for this art. Around the age of thirteen I began student teaching; because of this, I found a liking for helping people become more confident in themselves and their dance technique. Not only did I learn to dance, but I also built confidence, learned great stage presence and to have respect for everyone. These are all lessons that will remain with me for life.
Neo-Paganism and New Age Spirituality have very different rules factors. Neo-Paganism, as defined by the Encyclopædia Britannica, is an umbrella term for several spiritual movements that attempt to restore the “authentic pantheons and rituals” of the ancient polytheistic religions of Europe and the Middle East.(Neo-Paganism) These forms of “nature-oriented spirituality” are typically pre-Christian and primarily originate in Europe. (Fisher 478) ReligiousTollerance.org sheds some light on how people formed these Neo-Pagan religions:
I feel like all of my strengths were spot on, but the one that I really feel represents me best is the Empathy. I’ve always been able to put myself in other people’s shoes and feel what they may be feeling.
Trying to decide what your personal strengths are, is hard. For myself, I have grown in my strengths, and I’ve experienced my weaknesses. My personal strengths consist of: positivity, encouragement, laughter, and love. I pick these four because I feel that I am truly strongest in these aspects of my life. Being positive is a big factor in everything I do. I always want to be happy and joyful; not only to display Christ in me, but to make others feel the way I do. I want others to appreciate life and to feel any kind of uplift in his or her spirt. Positivity plays into encouragement. I make it my goal to make others feel better about themselves. My goal coming into college was to learn and know every person(s) name that I got the chance to meet. Just taking a few minutes out of your day to truly get to know someone, is such a blessing. It not only blesses me in new friendships, but it also blesses others because they feel that someone genuinely cares about them. Laughter is another characteristic I strive to pour out onto others. I laugh at practically everything. I love to laugh, and I love to make people laugh. I’ve learned the importance of laughter, and I just want to make one person smile every day. Love is my last of the four attributes. Love is so important to me. I love creation (Trees, birds, squirrels), God, and I love people. I just want the love that God has given me, to pour out onto others. I want others to know that I love them. These are my personal strengths
Through my personality and learning style I am able to identify a couple of personal strengths and weaknesses. My learning style is a combination of visual and auditory learning, so I am able to learn better with images as well as learning through discussions. Discussion helped me to identify one of my strengths as I am open-minded I am able to listen and see others perspectives on a topic. Whereas my personality shows my weakness as I am an introvert I do not tend to speak up on my ideas or thoughts in discussions.
From my freshman year of high school to my senior year at school I have been involved in cheerleading, track and field, the Leo Club, Ebony Society, Trio program, the Ascend Network, Emerald Legacy Step, Flagler Youth Leadership Program, and the Hosa Program. Outside of school, I volunteered to be the junior coach of Flagler Titans Varsity Cheer team, as well as concession stands for softball games and culinary events, and now volunteering at the hospital as part of the teen auxiliary
Substance abuse within the US is a very significant issue, with costs “exacting over $600 billion annually” (National Institute on Drug Abuse, 2015). Various laws and regulations have been put in place in order to lower the amount of substance abuse cases. This has in turn triggered the establishment of appropriate public administration institutions. Even with these institutions there has been very little relief with the issue of substance abuse.
The text under consideration is a letter written by Mr Nicholas Cummins, a magistrate of Cork, on 17 December 1846 imploring the Duke of Wellington to be aware of the precarious conditions in which Irish people are living and to start acting. This period of “mass starvation” is mostly known and called as “The Great Irish Potato Famine”.
I like to think I have many strengths. After review of my character/ personality test, I can see what they are. I am a task-oriented leader, which drives me to finish a project. I have a strong individual work ethic, which allows me to be responsible and not rely on others. I am good at building and leading
