I bought my ticket to the Death of a Bachelor tour in late November and have been anxiously anticipating the show since. With incredible production, enticing setlists, and crowd enthusiasm to boot, Panic! At The Disco did not disappoint.
First on the bill was Saint Motel (★★★★☆). While I knew a few of their songs, the others that I didn’t were still exciting to listen to. The crowd was engaged and able to dance and sing along to their popular tracks like “Move” and “My Type”, and their utilization of entertaining production and graphics made their performance noteworthy and a memorable start to the evening.
Next up was Misterwives (★★☆☆☆), who put on an okay show overall. I’m a fan of some of their music, however the songs didn’t always translate well live, feeling

Unlike Saint Motel, they did not use much production, but rather some lighting effects on stage to entice the audience. Halfway through, they stopped and lead singer Mandy Lee gave a short speech about acceptance and individuality. While the sentiment was heartfelt, the speech was a bit generic and more off-putting than rallying for the crowd. It did not aid Misterwives, either, to follow this up with a cover of Chance The Rapper’s “Same Drugs”, which was bland and stagnant in their otherwise upbeat set. Overall, I was a bit disappointed with Misterwives and wish they would have done more with their set.
Finally came Panic! At The Disco (★★★★★), who has been my favorite band since I was 12 years old. They opened with new favorites “Don’t Threaten Me with a Good Time” and “LA Devotee”, both of which got the crowd on their feet and set a fast-paced, electric mood for
Although there were just the slightest things that could be changed and that is that when Molly's part to sing came her voice was barely heard from the middle seats and also the half time food could have been better but aside from that it was great, amazing, astonishing, expectations met! For the first show attending this year it was great that is why I definitely recommend people should go and have an amazing time like I
“Being Alive” shifted the emotions of the concert from upbeat and pop-oriented vibes to slower and more minor tastes and sounds.
Then the band came back with couple upbeat and fan compositions including original “Riley’s Thang” that I mentioned above. I think that was a great structured repertoire. Beauty of each instrument was perfectly defined letting the audience fully enjoy the
Jason’s opening song was the song, “Just Gettn’ Started”. I could tell how popular it was by the way the crowd came alive when the guitar played its first few notes. I thought this was a very appropriate opener that really set the mood for the rest of the concert. It was an upbeat tune that had everyone putting their hands in the air and singing along. I saw this song as an anthem for the weekend when you’re getting ready to go out and have fun. This song struck me as something with very strong rock roots. The electric guitar was prominent with the edgy sound of Jason’s voice to complement the songs rock
The crowd was very responsive throughout the show, especially during “Treble and clefs” performance of “If I’m James Dean, Then You’re Audrey Hepburn” by Sleeping With Sirens when the crowd turned on their flashlights and swayed in their seats.
As the day winded down, I was able to catch Two Door Cinema Club (a favorite band of mine) before I made my way across the park to catch Grimes. Giving one of the best solo performances I have ever seen, Grimes put so much energy into her performance. Whether it was Jumping across the stage, dancing around, or controlling the soundboard (all on sprained ankles mind you), she kept the crowd entertained. Her rendition of ‘Ave Maria’ was weirdly beautiful, and her catchy pop songs got the entire crowd dancing, standouts include ‘Venus Fly’ and ‘Flesh Without
The set itself was simple and to the point. It was held at the Musco Technology Center also known as the MTC. The room was for a more intimate audience you could see by looking around that people were having a good time. For the most part it looked like it mostly brought out an older crowd as do most production in this town. I don’t understand why more people from my generation don’t go out and experience these type of things. However, I liked that it had high ceilings and the room seemed pretty filled. I personally think that the lights should have been dimed, it would have added to the mood of the whole
The composition or song that I liked the most was their through the ages comical review. In this segment they basically sang karaoke. The song that I remember they all sang was start of something new, I enjoyed the Harmony and how all the actors voices came together. Throughout the rest of the concert they sang “we’re all in this together” and “there ain't no stopping us”. I wouldn't say that this was the best performing I have ever seen it was rather raunchy and unprofessional. I suppose that's what you
To start, while their concert was amazing, it also had its faults. One of those faults included the songs. I understand that some of the songs were in languages other than English; however, the songs that were in English were very difficult for me to understand what they were saying. I did not like that because I do not think that there is a point in singing lyrics if they are not understandable, especially
“This is a very unique opportunity to see these guys in probably the smallest venue they are going to play all tour. They have an incredible light show and stage performance that will set this show apart from any show we will have had thus far. This will be the most incredible show we have had to date” he said.
The arena lit up (literally, from smartphones) during the biggest hits such as Up! and I’m Gonna Getcha Good!, and remained glowing through fan favorite You’re Still The One. Who’s Bed Have Your Boots Been Under? got the whole arena dancing, and continued to the encore with Man! I Feel Like a Woman. Although the smartphones were out capturing every moment, the room was alive and energetic straight through the end of the performance.
The first performance of the night began at halftime. The prominent EIU marching band formed in a perfectly rounded heart around the Panther logo at the fifty yard line. Dressed in flashy black feathered hats, royal blue and black shirts, and black pants, the trumpets roared and the drummers pounded with might. Their eyes were focused on the music while the conductor firmly gave them the beat as he vigorously moved about on the stand. The flags were being twirled effortlessly by the delicately nimble hands of their holders. As the music was being beautifully executed, the gorgeous baton twirler spun and launched her baton high into the air. The band first entertained the crowd with the playing of “UpTown Funk,” the dedication song of the summer of 2015, then Fall Out Boy’s “Uma Thurman,” and lastly Walk The Moon’s song “ Shut Up and Dance with Me.”
Although, we didn’t get to see much of the opening act because we were a bit delayed we did get to see our favorite band and sing along to their songs. Even after all that mess in the beginning of that day it ended with a great performance from One Direction. However, even if I plan things a head
Twelve. That’s how many minutes until we go onstage. This is my first show with U.S. pop-punk band, Panic! At the Disco. Most of have been so nice to me since we’ve met. Dallon, Kenneth, Daniel, they’ve been nice. Brendon, on the other hand, is a dick. Not to his bandmates, or his fans, just to me it seems. Not once have I ever even met this guy before this tour, now he’s treating me like shit?
started up. This is the band we had all been waiting for. This is when
