Baby Boom Generation Must Retire Now From Government Divisions
It’s not uncommon to read articles today about the impact the recession is having on young people who are just graduating from college. Their career opportunities are already limited. As the Boomers stay put, it may further limit the advancement opportunities of the generations beneath them. The typical definition of Baby Boom Generation refers to elder born between the years of 1946 and 1964. American Samoa government divisions are filled with Baby boomers that have exceeded more than 30 years of service. As a result, the government needs to modify its retirement policies to allow cost savings, increase of jobs in American Samoa government workforce and add quality services offered by the government.
The government of American Samoa is continuing facing with a financial downturn. The problem falls within the leaders when political promises become a driving force in their decision. Sadly favoritism and nepotism are witnessed in the government regardless of equal employment opportunity regulation.
