In Susan Griffin’s work titled “Our Secret”, she discusses the relationship between the present-day and the earlier life of different people. She also compares the private and public lives of other people. Her piece is set during World War Two in the 1940s. Throughout the entire piece, Griffin compares the lives of people evolved in World War Two, people who were affected by the war, and her own life. She shows how even though they lived separate lives, they are still closely related.

The Auditor: An Instructional Novella stretches beyond the standard textbooks to reveal the principles and practices of auditing as they are in the real world. The book consists of a few key aspects such as: targets students’ natural curiosity about the field of accounting, supports traditional teaching tools, shapes the potential challenges that awaits public accountants.
Legitimacy in accounting practices is ensured by the check and balance of having independent auditors from registered public accountant firms reviewing financial practices. Traditionally, auditors were thought of to be one of the most trustworthy positions in business. After many reports came out of businesses filing for bankruptcy after auditors did not issue a Going Concern, many were led to believe auditors were being paid off to hide such issues. From this stereotypes rose, labeling auditors be deceitful and fraudulent. Measures are being taken to change the view of up and coming future auditors. College students are being asked to sit in on daily operations of an auditor and surveyed to determine if their views have changed.
Did it ever occur to you, why some people can become very influential and take power even with radical ideals? Have you ever wondered why people are extremely convinced to purchase certain products? Animal Farm is a novel written by George Orwell. The purpose of the Animal Farm novel is to convey the adverse effects and consequences of Communism. The purpose of the “Brotherly Love” Coca-Cola advertisement is to persuade customers to buy Coca-Cola. It is very clear that the “Brotherly Love” Coca-Cola commercial utilizes pathos more effectively than Animal Farm’s use of pathos. This is apparent because pathos can leave the viewer/reader with an emotional impact, which is shown through the brother-brother relationship. However, Animal Farm uses plain folk very well with Snowball and Old Major’s attempts to equalize all of the animals on the farm.
Audit quality really suffers when auditor lack a sound base of experience and understanding concerning a public company’s business (AICPA, 2011).
In October 2001, Enron Corporation which was one of the world major energy, commodities and service companies with claimed revenues of nearly 111 billion dollars during 2000 collapsed under the weight of massive fraud in that it has become largest bankruptcy recognition in the US economy. Enron’s earning report was extremely skewed that losses were not represented in their entirety, prompting more and more wishing to participate in what seemed like a profitable company. After collapse of Enron, Auditor independence has become a social issue that weather auditor has to be independent or not. In addition, while auditing must consider matters objectively with dispassion, there were still doubts whether it implemented well. Further, there has been much speculation about the need for the mandatory rotation of auditors or audit firm rotation to warn false accounting between audit firm and client. By examining Enron case, this essay will discuss about advantages and drawbacks of the mandatory rotation of
According to ICAEW, auditor independence mainly refers to the independence of the external auditor from parties that have an interest in the financial statements of the business being audited. It requires having both integrity and an objective manner to the auditing process. In order for the concept to be deemed effective the auditor needs to carry out their work freely. One of the main purposes of auditing is to increase credibility of the entity’s’ financial statements, as they have expressed their own professional opinion on the truth and fair view in accordance with the proper accounting standards used. This is only possible if the audit is made with reasonable assurance that it has come from an independent source and has not been influenced by other parties, such as managers, directors or by conflict of interest.
AICPA Code of Professional Conduct principles prevents vises such as fraud that are experienced in accountancy field. Audit is the best measure of the effect of the fraud that are imposed to investors by accountants. The relationship of the investors and account holders are supposed to be affirmed through auditing to ensure accounting principles are upheld(Weirich, Pearson, & Churyk, 2010). Improper loss of the funds through propagation of the accountant officer should be treated as fraud and criminal activity that should lead to prosecution. Therefore, the paper seeks to relate two fraud cases that have been audited and presenting AICPA Code of
