Attending camp neuro would be extremely helpful for me to continue exploring the healthcare field. I have been interested in the healthcare field ever since I was young because both my aunts were nurses, so when I was little my sister and I always played doctor or nurse with them. I started exploring the medical field by volunteering at the Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis over the summer. I looked forward to volunteering every week because I spent 3 hours holding infants and playing with patients and their siblings. While I was there I was able to observe doctors, nurses and a few physician’s assistants. In addition, I just finished an internship with an Orthopedic surgeon. I valued this opportunity to shadow him for a day in his clinic
I became interested in the STEM camp because I believe this camp will benefit me an enormous deal in the future. Attending the camp will support my future academic goals. In college, I intend to specialize in science, math, and technology. The STEM camp will help develop my educational interests and provide a glimpse into what I can expect from studying the areas of math, science and technology and engineering. I know that my future career will involve knowledge in these subjects and I want to do everything possible to allow myself to be exposed to whatever educational opportunities that can help me develop these skills. I would also like to have an experience at UTRGV because it is one of my possible college choices at this
I am interested in being a part of the Camp MD program because I really love the medical field and I want to make new friends there who share the same thought towards the medical field as me. Anything and everything medical related has always been so fascinating to me ever since I was a little kid. It has had my eye because my family was always at the hospital dealing with surgeries, chemo treatments, and illnesses. And I thought it was cool how the doctors were able to help those who were sick and dying. In school, I have taken a medical terminology class in order to help get me started with the medical field, and next year I will be taking an anatomy and physiology class along with a CNA class to help pay for schooling. I am wanting to become
The medieval time period brought along a unique style of romance. Romance during the Medieval time referred to French and German poetry dealing with chivalry and the quests of knights in warfare as well as their bravery and courage (Wheeler 1). The chivalry of knights towards women is demonstrated in Milun, Sir Orfeo, and Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. Each of the writings have a different way of unveiling the knight’s chivalry, yet they all share a common theme. Although chivalry is a common theme in all three texts, medieval romance can vary greatly. Some other themes shown throughout the three texts are loyalty, trust, compassion, respect, and devotion.

I have always been a firm believer in self-exploration and diversification. Though I started my medical career in Pakistan, I moved to US to learn and experience the medical distinction. I started appreciating the value of evidence-based medicine and best practice guidelines in the western medicine. I always desired to be a critical care physician. I got chance to learn and experience Neurocritical Care for the first time at UNM. This experience facilitated my special interest in Neuroscience. Recently, I completed my basic training in Neurology and am one step closer to my fundamental goal of getting the best available training in Neurocritical
When I was taking a photo of the purple sky and two stretching lakes across the Bonney Pass in the Teton Mountains; I knew this place that I loved had transformed me into a better person and a more confident woman.
Our mission statement is, “ Ensure that each we provide an amazing summer camp experience for kids from all walks of life.” Each participant will be able to develop their social skills as they make new friends daily. We will help kids gain an appreciation for the community they live in and respect for the environment around them. We will achieve these goals by exposing our children to new places, new experiences, and new ideas. Our camp will allow kids the chance to create fun memories while still learning a lot.
This summer I was given the amazing opportunity to be a camp counselor. At first, I was hesitant because I wanted to spend my summer having fun. I thought about it a lot and soon realized that the opportunity was a dream come true. I had always wanted to have a group of little girls who loved me and thought I was the coolest person ever. My summer was absolutely perfect. Three things that made my summer perfect were my kids, my job, and my memories.
I would like to attend Materials Camp to learn more about the subjects that I am passionate about. As far back as I can remember, I have loved science and technology. My two favorite areas of science are Geology and Agriculture. Because I was motivated to learn more about these subjects, I researched and sought out professors in these fields to learn more outside of school. In school, I enjoy math, science (Chemistry, Physics, Advanced Biology), and computer classes. I love learning more about anything in the STEM field and enjoy meeting and learning from people who work in all fields of STEM.
As a first-year student, I am open to trying new things such as being a Coordinator, I feel that this would be a very enriching experience for me as a student and will allow me to improve myself. I am a very adaptable person, who gets along well with others and can clearly communicate all the required content. Moreover, I have exceptional organizational skills from my previous experience as an executive of Banting Memorial High School’s Student Council, but can always improve if need be. I also enjoy and believe in volunteering overall, with my past experience volunteering in daycares and retirement homes, I believe that I have the dedication, commitment and initiative to be an excellent volunteer coordinator.
As a recent graduate of the Johns Hopkins University and a new Research Technician at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, becoming more familiar with different healthcare settings and helping others in doing so have always been of my interest. From my experience of volunteering as a piano teacher for inner-city children in Baltimore, I have learnt that even a small commitment and emotional support can make a big difference in the daily lives and the happiness of those in need. I have briefly familiarized myself to the hospital environment by shadowing physicians and conducting biomedical research but have yet to translate my volunteering experiences and the lessons learnt from them to the healthcare setting. I am a friendly, optimistic,
Medicine is a vast field. I have taken various health science classes over the past three years that have given me a brief overview of medicine and physiology. However, I believe that a summer experience at Summer Ventures would allow me to gain a better understanding of science by immersing myself in research and other learning opportunities. During my sophomore year of high school I took AP Psychology to complement my schedule. I wasn’t very serious about the course in the beginning, but over time I found myself becoming really intrigued with the subject. Moreover, I have been left with a lasting desire to learn more about the brain and the human body. An opportunity to do research on a topic such as the health sciences would not only provide
Next, science is the light that keeps us out of the dark ages. If science did not evolve, we would have many unanswered questions related to real life, die with terrifying diseases, and starve without hygiene and nutritious food. Because science has an impact on every aspect of our lives, I am eager in exploring this immense field of study and improve society through healthcare. When it comes to STEM field and school, on top of maintaining good GPA and grades, I devote my time well to my extracurriculars. Starting 7th grade, my passion for opting the medical field has strengthened due to my influential pediatrician. This enhanced drastically as I started gaining many volunteering and shadowing experiences throughout high school. As a freshman, I started taking advantage of majority of the opportunities around me like joining HOSA (Health Occupations Students Of America), Steminism, NHS, UPMC Passavant, Senior Living Facility. Covering a wide range of areas in healthcare-- volunteering/shadowing a geriatrician, pharmacist, nurse, surgeon and more-- solidified my aspiration. However, when I think about the medical field, clinical is not the only side. Research plays a huge role in medicine because without this, we would have inadequate knowledge about science and also would not have access to all these sophisticated treatments. Bayer School Scholars Program is a great opportunity for students like me to
This Summer, I had the best time of my life. I learned some valuable lessons, I made some friends, and I had so much fun. Even if I didn’t know it. This is the story of my summer camp experience.
