Fawcett believed that archeological evidence showed that an advanced and wealthy ancient kingdom had existed in the Amazon. As an archeologist he researched the Amazon for years leading up to his expedition, and his findings were spectacular and controversial. He was so obsessed with what he called the city of Z that he could describe it in detail, as “in a valley, about ten miles wide… with a barreled roadway of stone…the houses are low and windowless, and there is a pyramidal temple” (Grann 40). His obsession was single minded, and his pursuit of science revolved around finding a spectacular city that might never have existed. Many others have followed in his footsteps. Since his disappearance, up to one hundred explorers have died searching for the city of Z or information about Fawcett’s fate. In an interview with NPR, Grann admitted that he had also become “obsessed” while researching and writing City of Z. Some people search for treasures that are never found. Others explore the world looking for valuables till their deaths. In this case, explorers were looking for something that was valuable to them. There are many known conspiracies and various rumors about Cibola, “the City of Gold,” which was believed to be real, but in reality, Cibola never existed. Subsequently, there were four expeditions that searched for Cibola. There are journeys that were made, but were not told of what had happened and when. Some of these expeditions ended in desperation, but for the others, there are no known results.

A private yacht charter in the Bahamas is the ideal way to vacation on the water. Cruise ships may be nice for some people, but I couldn't imagine the lack of privacy or control over my own schedule. Private yacht charters allow you to make your holiday truly yours, and you are not at the mercy of a staff that must cater to hundreds of others passengers. The peace and beauty of the Bahamas is better appreciated on a private yacht rather than a crowded cruise ship surrounded by strangers.

There are four major theories: The Beringia Theory, the Solutrean Hypothesis, The Maritime Theory, and the South-Pacific Theory. All of the theories are possible, but only one of them can be true.

Bahamas is one of the most visited places for tourist around the world. It attracted 5.8 million visitors in 2017, more than 70% of whom were cruise visitors. Its beautiful attractions make it an unforgettable place to go for vacations. Traveling is the activity that I most enjoy doing it. Last summer, I went on a cruise to Bahamas for 5 days. It has a lot of entertainments that made my visit unique experience, like its beaches, the food and the Casinos & Night life.

The short story “The New Atlantis” paints a picture of a dystopian United States, where the government has become an overwhelming force. The people living in the States are left in a state of neglect, where harsh administration and forced ideals are the norm. Ursula K. Le Guin’s story follows Belle, a woman who leaves her memoirs to the rising oceans that are swallowing up the continent. Belle’s story records the struggle of a person’s life under the suffocating government, with her husband Simon attempting to gain political strength through his scientific vision. The themes of the story are based on “a damning critique of the direction that humanity along with science and technology have taken under capitalism” (Maxwell 15). With its heavy hand, civilization has consumed itself with conflict and consumption. By the end of the story, the United States has completely collapsed into the ocean, collapsed under the weight of its own government. The story “The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas”, also by Ursula K. Le Guin, tells the tale of an idealistic city called Omelas. Shoshana Knapp illustrates the lives of Omelas as a complex moral problem: “The basic situation . . . is the promise of mass bliss in exchange for a unique torment” (par. 5). When children become young adults in Omelas, they are shown a morbid truth about their society – the basis of Omelas’ whole existence relies on the suffering of one lonely child locked in a room. A culturally competent educator must understand and ingrained themselves in the cultures of their school’s community. Furthermore, this competence has the potential to become developed inside and outside the classroom. As a future educator, my plan is to grasp the personal knowledge of the cultures in my school’s community through participating in volunteer work in the designated area. Additionally, I can expand the understanding of the proper approach for teaching students in communities with diverse cultures though reading books with similar experiences.       Atlantis is known to most people as a legend or myth written by the Greek poet Plato, but is it possible that this lost continent really existed? Is it all legend or could there be some fact to it? Contrary to common belief there have been numerous geological and historical findings that actually give proof to the existence of this lost city. If there was a topic that I was an expert in, it would be The Bachelor and The Bachelorette franchise, and that is exactly what it is, a franchise. I have watched the shows since I was a little girl, I remember watching them with my mother at a young age and now I watch them with my friends. I have not watched every season, but I have watched a plenty. Many people do watch the show for entertainment or so they believe, but studies have shown that it perpetrates the way that people think about love and life. Although, they do get entertainment from it, often people will leave the show “feeling entertained, amused, cheered up, or stimulated.” (ARTICLE)
