AThe Personal Statement is our best means of getting to know you and your best means of creating a context for your academic performance. When you write your personal statement, tell us about those aspects of your life that are not apparent from your academic record:
a character-defining moment the cultural awareness you've developed a challenge faced a personal hardship or barrier overcome

Tips
Some of the best statements are written as personal stories. We welcome your imaginative interpretation.
You may define experience broadly. For example, in option 2, experience could be a meeting with an influential person, a news story that spurred you to action, a family event, or something that might be insignificant to someone else that had particular meaning for you. If you don't think that any one experience shaped your character, simply choose an experience that tells us something about you.
I have been in the Boy Scouts of America for more than 6 years. I earned the rank of Eagle Scout and been awarded three 50 Milers as well as the God and Church religious award. Scouting has changed me in many ways for which I will be thankful my entire life. But a single backpacking trek, Philmont, in New Mexico was the turning pointing for changing my overall personality and attitude. There was a moment at one of the camps where I realized I was changing. It had been a long day, we got into camp and it started pouring and lightning started all

I live in a rural neighborhood near my church, Vinland Lutheran Church. As part of the church’s youth group, I have traveled around in Seattle, delivering socks, hats, underwear, and lunches. Our church creates an overall sense of community in our area, making us want to be part of other communities and be active in them.
My school, North Kitsap, has a really good engineering program that exposures students to composites, 3D printing, CAD modeling, laser cutting, and metal working. From talking to students from other schools, our school has given me a relatively unique opportunity to learn about a wide range of different engineering processes and multiple CAD programs. My engineering knowledge will help me be a more unique student.
I participated for multiple years in Boy Scouts. I learned about leadership and planning by planning my own Eagle project and assisting and leading the troop in many activities. With these skills, I hope to bring diversity to the University of
My exposure in the field of engineering can be traced back to my high school days. Not only did I take science classes such as physics, but I was also a member of two engineering clubs which taught numerous material outside the school’s curriculum. With that

I researched, selected and assembled the components of my computer from scratch for my 13th birthday. Science is my favorite subject because I like to think about ways I can make the world better and more energy efficient. One of my favorite things to do at night is theorize about science and engineering topics. Most of the time I have a hard time getting to sleep because I can't stop thinking. I am currently trying to find new ways to desalinate water in an environmentally clean way. In 5th grade I competed in two Lego Mindstorms competitions and I won both. The first competition was to make the coolest robot and I made a walking robot. The second competition was a tug of war. I won by using gears, six wheel drive and some extra weight. When I had Autodesk class I liked to think of creative solutions to finish the assignments. I tried to use the instructions only if I had been stuck for a long time. I enjoy spending time at after school engineering clubs. In 6th grade I participated in two after school hands-on engineering programs. In 6th and 7th grade I went to a program called SPARCS. We met on Saturdays once per month and did fun activities with engineering students from NCSU. I was just accepted into NC-MSEN Pre-College Program which involves afternoon classes at Centennial as well as weekend classes at
In coming here I expected to just learn about engineering and create a toy for a kid in need, but it ended up being so much more than that. I can now differentiate the types of engineering and which ones I like the best. This camp also helped me realize how I like the physical building and sketching process of engineering rather than the computer components. I also didn’t expect most of the trips and tours that we went on to be intriguing, but I found myself enjoying almost all of them.
One of my primary objectives for returning to school is to explore other ideas, perspectives and approaches. I want to discover and understand alternative processes, in addition to, examining conventional and traditional social infrastructures. I’ve held various positions throughout my life journey and I’ve learned to glean the positive aspects and facets from every position. My personal history has offered me many experiences and enhances my observations and perspectives, as well as, genuinely enriches my appreciation for exploring. In my midterm years, after many life challenges and successes I completed my A.A Degree.
Because of the great scope of subjects that engineering encompasses, I could do a variety of things to help the community using my skills. This could include programming the systems behind electrical lines, insurance companies, cell phone towers, hospitals, or anything else that runs the infrastructure of a neighborhood or town. Almost anything that I put my time and energy into will bring a positive change to my community.
In 2016, I was selected for the Virginia Governor’s STEM Academy at Grassfield High School, where I am currently enrolled in the Engineering Pathway. I have a 4.25 GPA and have been a Dean’s List Recipient for the past two years. I am a member of the National Honor Society, as well as the Science, Math, English, and History Honor Societies. In my Principles of Engineering Class, we frequently work on group projects. My fellow group members often look to me to solve problems in an effective manner.
During my first five years of practice, I want my roles to be that of helper, educator, professional, and researcher. As I progress through the profession, I will be assisting clients in accomplishing their goals while educating them in ways to do so effectively in a professional manner. In congruence with this, I also hope to do neurological research on individuals with neurological conditions and sensory integration of premature infants.

From my personal experience throughout education I’ve established good teachers all have one common characteristic; a strong dedication for improvement, built on motivation to stimulate students and nurture their talents. Primary teaching will facilitate my passion to pursue a challenging but incredibly rewarding career in the future. My interest developed as I enjoyed mentoring secondary school students with their homework on a weekly basis throughout year 12, this also made me realise I’d prefer to work with primary than secondary school children. I feel it’s a career with ultimate job satisfaction because I value the sense of achievement gained whilst teaching new skills to children. By learning how children develop and flourish linguistically,
College Mission For some individuals attending school is not a very appealing prospect. Many consider school to be merely another hoop to go through just to get somewhere else in life. Unfortunately, this statement often holds some truth since the school system enforces the mindset of always trying to get somewhere in the future (from kindergarten to 1st grade then 2nd, 3rd, and so on). Rather than learning to enjoy and appreciate every moment, we are implicitly thought to constantly focus to get from one place to another. As if the best thing is not now we are in, but where we are heading to.
The personal statement is very important to applicants who intend to be admitted to an undergraduate or graduate school. The role of a personal statement is to make applicants be different from other applicants. It mainly serves the purposes of persuading the admission committee of applicants’ great passion for the study field, explaining their experience that shaped their personality, demonstrating their longtime desire and commitment for the degree, and showing their life goals. What the admission committee is looking for in a personal statement varies from school to school, major to major. Art and Design is a unique program requiring its prospective students to be different in every aspect. The Art and Design Admission Committee is looking for a student who has creative potential in all respects. Hence, for those who want to apply to the School of Art and Design, they should understand how to present their stories, experiences, practice, goals, philosophy, inspirations, and aspirations in a creative way.
Personal Statement Adversity builds character! That's what I often repeat to myself when faced with hardships. I grew up one of five kids to a single mother who has bipolar disorder. I mention my mom’s illness because it is at the center of an unstable life that shaped me into the woman I am today. This instability was more often than not money related.
During my sophomore and junior years, I was part of an engineering team in a free mentorship program that focused on architecture, construction, and engineering. I learned about it through my school, and joined to explore career options. My first project was building a bridge, and my second was repurposing the Morton Salt Factory into a community center. I learned about tools and ideas such as space flow, AutoCAD, Revit, and environmental engineering. On the surface, it may seem that the program only benefits students interested in engineering. However, I also gained communication and presentation skills, which are applicable to any situation when working with others. This program has had a significant impact on my academics because I use my
With given a choice of what to write this paper, I could not get past the subtle nature of who we are as God’s creations. This fundamental truth of our identity is simplified with the truth of our identity in Jesus. We are created in God’s image with a purpose here on earth to display all of God’s greatness, His beauty, and to reveal all of His character aspects. Best of all, we are completely dependent on God. This new enlightenment of my identity in Christ as God’s creation will allow me to help people around the world become one with Christ by revealing the truth of their identity.
