Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol or tcp/ip is the de factor standard for transmitting dater over networks, it is the way of communication protocol used to connect hosts to the internet. Network operating systems also have their own protocols i.e. NetWare also supports tcp/ip
Domain names are the way to identify one or more ip addresses. i.e. google.com represents lots of ip addresses; domain names are used in URLs to identify a particular web page. Each domain name has a suffix that indicates what top level domain (TLD) it belongs to. The suffix’s are
.gov- Government agencies
.edu Educational Institutions
.org Non profit organizations
.mil Military
.com Commercial business
.net Network organizations
.ca Canada
.ta Thailand
The internet is based on ip addresses not domain names every we server requires a domain name system to translate domain names into ip addresses.
TLD or Top Level Domain’s refers to the suffix attached to domain names, and each one represents a top level domain. i.e. .com
FQDR or fully qualified domain name is the full address for a website; it includes a domain name, a host and a top –level (suffix)
URL or Uniform Resource Lactor is the global address of all documents and recourses of the World
A hierarchical system of servers and services specifically designed to translate IP addresses into domain names (forward lookups) as well as the reverse (reverse lookups) is called:
When you type in a web address, e.g.www.google.com. DNS associates with the domain name, translates into IP address (for example 192.168.154.70 is the IP for google.com) and directs your Internet connection to the correct website.
The IP address is given a unique identification it is one of kind IP address, so it can be trace for any internet activity and find the exact location of website. Domain names are used because it is easier to remember the name rather than the entire website address. All computers on the net have what area unit termed net Protocol addresses ordinarily called associate degree scientific discipline address to be ready to communicate across the network. These addresses, that area unit assigned to all or any computers on a network, area unit created of numerals separated by a dot that don't seem to be essentially simple for North American country to recollect. Therefore, whereas computers simply use these scientific discipline addresses to attach and communicate with one another, it's somewhat more difficult for North American country. It's with keeping such in mind that, net designers and controllers have return up with a translation system that identifies additional simply remembered characters with every and each scientific discipline address. With DNS we need to have the integrated namespace so following DNS use is proposed: an internal DNS namespace, used only on your own network; internal DNS to communicate with external DNS forwarding; and an external DNS namespace to communicate with external
DNS is the service that translates from domain name to the matching IP address. The roles of the name servers in this process are:
DNS stands for ‘Domain Name System’. It is an internet service that works like a
In order to first begin to create a website one needs not only come up with a name and logo, if they do not already have one, but also need to buy a domain name. The domain name can be bought from many different Host websites, such as GoDaddy and Network Solutions, and should be short and easy for people to remember and type. One is less likely to get traffic through their site if the domain name is hard to type and/or remember.
The role of an IP address is to locate each device in the network. For example, having a Roku, Xbox One, two IPhone, a wireless printer, each device has its address. The domain name is a name given to companies, entities to communicate and share data through the network (e.g. intranet, internet, cloud).
The next step is to obtain the IP address from the domain name. This is performed by DNS. A DNS lookup, in a general sense, is the process by which a DNS record is returned from a DNS server. Interconnected computers, servers and smart phones need to know how to translate the email addresses and domain names people use into meaningful numerical addresses. A DNS lookup performs this function.
Subdomain- With DNS naming terminology, this term refers to a part of a host name (or domain name). That smaller part can be the part that a company registers through IANA or some authorized agency to identify all hosts inside that company.
The zone is the administrative division that DNS servers use to separate domains. The first step in implementing the DNS namespace you designed is to create a zone representing your root domain.
When setting up a new website or business online, one of the most important steps in the process is the creation of a domain name. A domain name is the name that those on the Internet will use to find your website. It is contained in the URL for that particular page. It is a quick means to give users a glimpse into your site. The name you choose might be the name of your company or the services that you provide. It may include your location or any other information you wish to include. No matter what information you include, when a user encounters your domain name they should be able to tell who you are or what service you offer.
With the New York, NY office being headquarters and the Forest Root Domain with the domain name being NationalFinances.com, each of the other sites will require their own domain name. The table shown below outlines the naming convention of the site domains.
Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) are the basic communication protocols, which were designed to provide low level support for internetworking. This term is generally also used to refer to a more generalised collection of protocols developed by the internet community and U.S. Department of Defence.
The Domain Name System is most often described as the Internet’s phone book or address book. All of us Internet users use it on daily basis without even realizing it. Its basic task is to convert human-readable website name like coursera.org into its computer-readable numerical IP address like 107.21.240.231.Since such strings of numbers are difficult for humans to memorize, DNS allows you to assign a domain name, such as facebook.com to you IP address. So, the domain name is simply an address on the Internet. It has to be unique just like physical address or phone number.
Well-known communications protocols are Ethernet, a hardware and Link standard that is ubiquitous in local area networks, and the Internet Protocol Suite, which defines a set of protocols for internetworking, i.e. for data communication between multiple networks, as well as host-to-host data transfer, and application-specific data transmission formats.
