Ideally, CSR policy would function as a built-in, self-regulating mechanism whereby business would monitor and ensure its support to law, ethical standards, and international norms. Consequently, business would embrace responsibility for the impact of its activities on the environment, consumers, employees, communities, stakeholders and all other members of the public sphere. Furthermore, CSR-focused businesses would proactively promote the public interest by encouraging community growth and development, and voluntarily eliminating practices that harm the public sphere, regardless of legality. Essentially, CSR is the deliberate inclusion of public interest into corporate decision-making, and the honoring of a triple bottom line: people, planet, profit.
Stakeholders are taking an increasing interest in the activity of the company. Most look to the outer circle, that is, what the company has actually done, good or bad, in terms of its products and services, in terms of its impact on the environment and on local communities, or in how it treats and develops its workforce. Out of the various stakeholders, it is financial analysts who are predominantly focused - as well as past financial performance - on quality of management as an indicator of likely future performance. Developed countries have worked out a way around ensuring that local and international businesses or companies make

Businesses, specifically larger corporations, play a major role in what occurs in society therefore, they are responsible to their stakeholders not only to pursue economic goals but the greater social good as well. Corporate social responsibility (CSR) means that a corporation should act in a way that enhances society and its inhabitants and be held accountable for any of its actions that affect people, their communities, and their environment. (Lawrence, 2010). Social responsibility is becoming the norm so much so that some businesses have incorporated it into their business model. There are three components of the bottom line of social
As soon as I gazed upon the church I noticed it had a very decorative Romanesque feel to it. The main facade of the church was decorated with a lot of pilasters around the windows, roof, portals, and above the central portal where the tympanum lies. This church has a very well done tympanum that depicts a priest standing in the middle of a farm with hills and trees around the edges, there is also a farmer in the background with the sun setting. Unlike a Gothic church, this church has very rounded arches above every portal and is very rounded all throughout except for the pointed roof. Left of the main facade is a big clock tower which looks to be a couple meters taller than the main facade. Four clocks lie at the very top of each side of the
CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY (CSR) is a term describing a company’s obligation to be accountable to all of its stakeholder in all its operation and activities. The relationship between physicians and hospitals is very important. If the relationship between the two is negative then the organization cannot be successful and can fall to the ground. If the relationship is positive then the organization becomes successful. Physicians bring business to the hospitals with their clinical experience, with the patients they see, by admitting them or performing procedures, and decide on what type of supplies and services will be used (Harrison, 2016). Both, physicians and hospitals are competitive, but physicians have more responsibilities, so they have a bigger role to play. Not only do physician bring in patients, services, and supplies, but they
I have chosen an advertisement from the 1940’s, during the World War II. In this ad a woman is pictured sitting at a sewing machine. The smile on the woman’s face and the cheerful yellow color used on the background makes it very appealing that women enjoy sewing or doing ‘women/household work’, featuring women as pathetic human beings. In addition, if one looks carefully one is able to realize that the woman in the ad has an optimal body type and her makeup and her hair seems to fit perfectly. This has to mean that, after all a woman who is for no use should still be looking attractive and the woman is scaled down to her appearance, meaning women were objectified during that century.
* CSR policy functions as a built-in, self-regulating mechanism whereby business monitors and ensures its active compliance with the spirit of the law, ethical standards, and international norms.
The telecommunications industry is divided into four primary categories; mobile telephones, fixed line telephones, internet and broadband and broadcasting. I am going to center this essay on the mobile telephone sector. I will assess the attractiveness of the mobile telecommunication industry in 1980, analyse meteor’s strategy on entering the market and the reasons that caused it to change them. Lastly I will discuss how I imagine the telecommunications industry will evolve over the next 5 years.
Now Government of Malaysia plans to have a telephony penetration rate of 50% for the whole country and 25% for the rural areas by year 2020 (State of Hawaii Government, 2002). Scrutinizing the background of Malaysian telecommunication sector, competition can be seen as main factor by the telecommunication service provider companies. Companies like Sapura Digital Sdn. Bhd., Celcom and Mobikom Berhad have gone through a market evaluation stating the fact that their companies either should be merged with giant and more competitive companies or to be gone through potential bankruptcies. This reflects a fact as how the market is being penetrated and flooded by the competitors. Only Telekom Malaysia (TM) Sdn. Bhd., with its TM Touch services has managed to maintain its credible presence in the industry. TM has been ranked as one of the leading telecommunication service providers in the entire Asia with significant investments in overseas. Beside TM, three other major companies have been operating in Malaysia namely Celcom, Digi and Maxis. These three service providers usually cover the following segments of the Malaysian telecommunication market traditional telecommunications, IP services, wireless and mobile markets and technologies, broadband markets and technologies. They also provide most sophisticated mobile services with an expanding number of value added services such as Short Message Service (SMS), Wireless Application Protocol (WAP), Subscription Services (SS),
The purpose of this essay is to research the notion of CSR and uncover its true framework and outline what social responsibility truly means to corporate organisations, and whether it should be seriously considered to be a legitimate addition to the corporate framework of an organisation.
The booming revolution in Information Technology sector has pushed the India’s telecom market significantly. India has shown tremendous growth in past few years in terms of mobile services. Mobile phones are a vast improvement over the telecommunications technology of the past, and now become an important asset in today’s busy life. Mobile phones have become the necessity in today’s competitive environment to meet the emerging global economy.
As a group, the community must analyze and criticize the behavior of its member in order to arrive at a consensus on the tolerance of business practices and behaviors. However, the community’s inclinations may provide an obstacle to the entry and continuation of business activity within the community. Governments, as representative of the community, will attempt to influence and regulate the behavior of companies to reflect the expectations of the community in which they operate, as is the case of government mandated. “The main idea behind CSR is
Businesses who follows this policy proactively promote community growth and development while also eliminates the practices which harms the public and environment. By adopting CSR practices, a business includes its stakeholders for decision making for achieving triple bottom line of people, planet and profit.
