When is it a good time to call you on Friday to chat-chat? Mojo and I are on our way to Beautiful and Hot Valley Green to take easy walk in my type of weather--Burning Hot in the Shade. I have made some improvement in my Joints; from 60% to 70% overall strength, which means I can walk around the house without my cane. My best was 85% to 90%, which is good given my total number of Joints Surgeries were four (one left hip and three right knee). So, I am training to get walk, heat and strength ready for Haiti. Also, I am fasting for seven to ten days to get back to my prime fighting and summer weight.

Race is concerned with biology physical characteristic, whereas ethnicity is more about culture. This week topic made me curious to: What made the skin color white more superior than those who are black? Why does the color of my skin define me as a person? What makes the “black” man a threat? Why are “blacks” dehumanized?
Sandro Botticelli (1445-1510) was an excellent Italian painter during the Early Renaissance. He attended the Florentine School (under the patronage of Lorenzo de ’Medici) and would then go on and produce some of the most famous paintings during the Renaissance- Primavera and The Birth of Venus. The Italian renaissance was a period of creative explosion. The term renaissance symbolizes rebirth, which is exactly what occurred in Italy during this time. An entire culture was remade through art. There was a resounding interest in the classics created by ancient artists. The humanist movement encouraged the study of humanity’s history in order to create a deeper understanding of how to move forward as a society. There was a seemingly unquenchable thirst for knowledge and creation. Many new art forms developed in this period, including opera. The Florentine Camerata, a group of scholars, created early forms of opera. Claudio Monteverdi, a renaissance composer, developed opera into the art form that is still performed today. The work of the Florentine Camerata and Claudio Monteverdi worked in harmony to create and develop this new form of music. Monteverdi’s educational background, his rebellious drive to create, his serendipitous career, and his unequaled talent allowed him to develop opera into an art form that no other composer of the time could have produced.
One of the greatest stories from the Italian Renaissance is the one of Fillipo Brunelleschi and Lorenzo Ghiberti. In 1401, the directors of the art of the Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral held a contest for artists; to create panels for a the doors on the east entrance (Kleiner, 560-2). Because the east doors faced the cathedral, the people thought it extremely prestigious to be able to participate in such a massive creation. After the first competition round, two finalists remained; Brunelleschi, an accomplished and experienced artist, and Ghiberti, a younger artist, but one with just as much talent. The two competitors were required to create a panel (or square) of Abraham readying to sacrifice Issac. Before reading which was which,
When we think about art there are many mediums used to express how artist feel. Some artists express themselves using pictures, music, or films. When you think of specific time periods the art work of that period expresses the overall emotions of the people, and we can learn a lot about a time period by studying the art of the time. One of the most influential periods in the history of Western Art is the Italian Renaissance, between 1400-1600 CE. During this time art flourished, and many of the techniques and advancements of art would continue to be taught in art schools that spread across Europe and lay as the foundation of art in modern society. Art, like everything in society, evolves at a certain space. During the Renaissance, art was always pushing the limits from what was previously seen or created. The Renaissance was a revival of Classical Antiquity and the artists went above the standard and created pieces that were intricate and visually pleasing. While the Baroque period was also a time of revival, it mostly revolved around the Catholic religion. Artists wanted to portray classic religious scenes in a more expressive way because during this time, protestantism was on the rise and in order to try and squash this new religion, the Catholics reinvented some great religious pieces but in a more emotional way. Through these following pieces, the evolution of art and style is evident.
The Renaissance time period was home to many new ideas in art. This includes new artists bringing forth ideas that had yet to be discovered and made popular. New themes and types of art were also being brought forward during this period.

It has been debated by many whether or not the Renaissance and the Middle Age are significantly different. However, with the Renaissance came evolutionary developments in art, education, social classes, and politics. Therefore, the Renaissance can be described as being distinctly different than the Middle Ages.
Drug therapy implies the treatment and prevention of CVDs and involves a variety of broadly acting classes of drugs. Here, we provided a brief description of a select number of commonly used drugs that are used in the treatment of CVDs. Anticoagulants, blood thinners such as heparin, decrease the clotting ability of blood. Although, anticoagulants may prevent clotting, they do not dissolve existing blood clots. Angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors dilate blood vessels and thereby decreases vascular resistance, which allows blood to flow more easily and relieves effort on the heart. These drugs can effectively be used to treat conditions such as high blood pressure and heart failure. Angiotensin-2 Receptor Antagonists (ARBs ) equilibrate heart and blood vessels and prevent an increase in blood pressure. In addition, ARBs are also used to treat high blood
Marijuana has been and continues to be a topic of major discussion in the United States. Until recently marijuana was only available in select states to people who have legitimate medical conditions and whose doctors believe that they could benefit from marijuana use. Recently however, both Colorado and Washington have both passed legislation allowing the sale and use of marijuana for recreational purposes for adults 21 years of age and older. These recreational marijuana legislations hold major implications regarding the future of marijuana and its legality in the United States. While this new legislation may be scary to some, I welcome the legalization of marijuana for recreational use for a number of different reasons.
