Tight lacing, corsets and girdles have dated back as early as the 1800’s and it was a must that women of the 19th century maintained an hourglass figure. This particular type of shapewear gave an appearance of a flat stomach, small waist, a rear end that stuck out and a bosom that was pretty much pushed up to the chin; however it caused some of those women a lot of pain. Fast forwarding to the 21st century women are now getting more in tuned with their figures. Instead of going under the knife, women are doing what is now known to be waist training. Although waist training is known to be much cheaper than cosmetic surgery the real question that people are so inquisitive about is waist training really effective?
Seeing female celebrities grace the covers of magazine and red carpets in beautiful, tight fitting gowns and even in less material such as swimwear

McGee began waist training March 2013 due to the fact that when working out and losing weigh she would lose fat in her legs before her stomach. McGee stated that she started waist training in order to fix this issue hoping to achieve a more hourglass figure by wearing her sports corset made out of latex, it helped her in losing water weight due to excessive sweating in her midsection during exercise. After noticing her results McGee then had to upgrade to a much tighter fit of a corset in order to pull the waist in, which most women refer to as the term called, “snatched”. McGee was satisfied with her results and stated that, “Waist trainers work. Period. It’s proven this is nothing new. Corsets have been worn for centuries and women have achieved their desired shape”.
