Introduction Every year the United States of America send a total number of 22.7 million men and women over the age of 17 overseas to fight for the protection of the country (Veteran Affairs, www.va.gov). That is 22.7 million sons, daughters, fathers, mothers, and other extended family members. When their service is complete many of these war veterans return home to their families, but some have no families to return too. On any given night, there are over 107 thousand veterans sleeping homeless on the streets of America; hungry, thirsty and without shelter (Veteran Affairs, www.va.gov). They bring homeless veterans in and help them fight these issues until they are stable again, but there is a point when the veterans need to move into another place, as the centers need to make room for homeless veterans that still face mental health issues and addiction. A common solution is to put the post-rehabilitated veterans in a halfway house or group home so they can work and save money. However, 50% to 90% of people relapse after a period of recovery and being surrounded with fragile rehabilitated people can be a trigger to revert back to old habits (Beating the Relapse Statistics, www.alcoholrehab.com). The Homeless Veteran Housing Program was created to bypass group homes and work towards finding veterans safe and stable homes that they can restart their lives. The program will initially be implemented at Veteran Rehabilitation, initially the Greensboro Servant Center, in the Piedmont Triad area in North Carolina.
