Last weekend I have visited three quite similar to each other ski resorts in Utah - Park City, Deer Valley and the Canyons. Resorts constitute a single ski area in Park City, just 40 minutes East from Salt Lake City. As a major center of the region is Park City - surround the town with innumerable boutiques, shops, cafes, restaurants, ice skating rinks and bridges. The town was founded as a result of "silver rush", and the first skiers up into the mountains just in mining trolleys. Until now, the glory of Park City as a silver mining center outshines its reputation as a ski resort, but after 2002 the situation seriously aligned in favor of expanding the popularity of skiing in Park City and its surrounding resorts. Skiing territory is divided into two equal-sized zones, to general bewilderment in no way connected to each other lifts. Ski isolation of Deer Valley, of course, the brand name of one of the most expensive resorts in the world, but globally it suffer from disunity ski areas as "rich" and "poor" (if there miraculously appear). The ski area of Park City - the most universal ("for all"), ski area in Deer Valley, which is not allowed to snowboard - offers a perfectly prepared, short tiring hill, while the Canyons is more democratic and colorful in terms of the relief region: it is popular among ski-lovers, and among the riders of different levels of training. Dining facilities and lounges well spread in the area, and it’s really easy to reach any services in the slopes. The resort does not offer accommodation in three-stars hotels.
Overall, in the Park City region has a huge range of accommodation, including a large number of well-known brands of luxury hotels, offering apartments on the terms “ski-in / ski-out”. The Park City has more than 10,000 apartments and rooms, or 24,250 beds to accommodate guests. It also has more than 30 meeting rooms and more than 4 000 rooms for group booking. Among the award-winning establishments Park City has restaurants with Mexican, Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Italian, French, Austrian, Middle Eastern, Indian, South-Western cuisine, as well as pubs. Park City is also famous for its amazing combination of style alpine and local cuisine. It wasn’t my first visit to Park City, I like to spend a few days in that area every other winter. And through all my visits I have never experienced problems with services on this resorts. The only one downside that I can think of is the high price of lift tickets.
