I am writing this letter in regards to Brooke Austins Inquiry Paper. In this paper she really has excelled and used her strengths to present a strong argument. Her inquiry paper about Juvenile Delinquency programs and there effectiveness outlines the risks associated and the issues these programs create. In Brooke’s introduction she briefly states the issues that arise from these programs and asks the audience a question to ponder throughout the inquiry.
82, NO. 3, SEPTEMBR (2004), the welfare of the child is one that doctors should always taken into to consideration, can the patient create a stable environment, does the patient have the means to take care of the child or children financially? If not should the doctor be able to make all of us responsible for this child? Due to the fact that the mother doesn’t have an income is going to place the needs of all fourteen children plus mom on the taxpayer; making all the death threats and angry comments on her website understandable. We all know that violence is never right; nevertheless the public anger is coming from their concern for these children and for their own pocket.
I believe that the argument put forth by Daniel Engster is valid, but not sound. There is one potential flaw with P5, and one with the derivation of P4 from P1-3.
Qu. 1. Is Tavion’s mother’s statement of concern of abuse sufficient to warrant further investigation by the hospital?
In the NBR article the main argument Thomas Beagle is trying to make, is that the newly introduced offence of “causing harm by posting digital communication (section 19)” is very wide and that it prevents or tries to prevent freedom of speech which may be of value to society. As an example he says that taking a photo of a politician receiving a bribe and posting it online can fit the criteria needed to commit the offense (whether it is true or not) with the penalty being up to three months in jail or a fine not exceeding $2000. He also says that some communications that causes harm may be of value to society, such as exposing criminal wrongdoings, which is not an available defence under the new offense. Due to this I would have to agree with

The article by Michael Binyon and the cartoon by Tom Toles make the claim that President Obama did not deserve to win a Nobel Peace Prize at the beginning of his presidency. Toles and Binyon share similar viewpoint, so they approach the subject in similar ways. Both of the speakers describe President Obama’s lack of accomplishments at the time he received the award. They both appear to pose strong arguments about this subject; however, the article by Michael Binyon seems to be stronger than the cartoon. Even though both provide effective arguments about the topic, “Comment: Absurd Decision on Obama Makes a Mockery of the Nobel Peace Prize” seems to pose the strongest argument because Michael Binyon was able to develop his claim and effectively impact his audience using background information, evoking strong emotions, and comparing President Obama to deserving winners of the past.
The patient is a 99-year-old female who is brought to the emergency room by BLS from her home.
