On the contrary, Google designed Android based on open source code, which Google makes it free to support manufactures to install on phones and tablets. Apple relies on sales of its devices to remain profitable. However, Google only needs to spread its advertising networks onto these devices to make a profit. Google envisions a future where mobile phones cost will be very cheap or even free, it requiring only the advertising revenue generated by these devices to turn a profit.
2.4 Apple vs. Google: Stakes and conflicts
The battle for the mobile computing market share between Apple and Google wouldn’t matter much if there wasn’t so much potential money at stake, and the majority of that money will come from advertising. App sales are another important component, especially for Apple. What irritated Steve Jobs about Google OS was that the Android phones offered many features that Apple had created, including the overall look of the devices and the use of multi-touch finger swiping. 2. The Negotiation 3.5 Steve Jobs’ personal interest
There was a famous competition in the desktop software industry in the
7-13. Facebook was meant to create a large network of friends to its own ability. It allows to connect and create more opportunities using this social media. For example, making events for parties or creating a business using Facebook. Google focuses the market from mobiles, advertising and operating systems. They are famous for their search engine despite how many users are using Google to search their things online. They own a few core products and they are indexing technology; Google Ads and Google mapping. These have developed a wide variety of end-products. Apple has the basis of creating a very strong hardware base for the future internet. They help to lay an emphasis on the hardware that facilitates mobile computing. Apple has gone into the stance that one of the major earners for tablet and phone manufacturers should be device restricted.
It is important to pay attention to those manufacturers that are working with android (Not only concentrate marketing activities in apple or RIM), because the potential growth of the Google’s brand could be an opportunity to grow in smart phones sales, increasing the market share.
It seems that Google with their Android OS is a little in front of Apple with respect to technological advancement; this is why Apple need to direct some of their costs to research and development to keep up or become better than their competitor.
HTC faces stiff competition with Apple and Samsung. Apple’s iPhone is considered as the benchmark of the industry and operators such as Spring is willing to pay $15.5 billion dollars to Apple just to have the right to sell iPhone. These demonstrates the popularity and the strength of iPhone. Furthermore, Apple’s iOS has much higher number of application downloads and higher revenue for the developers than the Android system. This signifies that developers with limited resources might only release their newest application for iOS. This is shown through the number of available apps for iOS against Android, with iOS having around 200,000 more apps than Android. This makes iOS more attractive than Android to the consumer. This in
2000-2006: HTC made first time profits when it engineered and developed PDA for Compaq computer. HTC made an alliance with top hardware companies and became best hardware maker which led to release of the XDA, the first Windows based smartphone by collaborating with Microsoft. HTC operated in ODM business and Mobile operator business. HTC designed customized phones for Mobile operators based on their specifications which led them to gain attractive contracts from different Mobile operators. HTC contracts with mobile operators was reason for HTC’s early success. HTC relationship with Handspring to develop Treo smartphone facilitated the opportunity to learn about software and User-Interface design. By 2006, HTC was shipping more than 70% of the world Windows Mobile smartphones.
In 2014 both Apple and Samsung sold a combined total of about 108.2 million units of their products! Samsung sold about 71 million units while on the other hand Apple sold 94.75 million units. For the past few years, the competing and comparison between Apple and Samsung was at its maximum. Fights started between people to prove an idea about which company is the best but they did not know that they were only comparing their smartphone. That is not the only thing a person should concentrate at while comparing two of the biggest multinationals in the world. People should look at the sales of all of the company’s products, their profits and losses, the history of the company, and the reviews of the people about their
Two operating systems currently dominate the smartphone market, Apple and Android. It all started six years ago when Google launched its android system. However, its approach was much different. Google had made just the software, not the device, giving the software free to phone makers to alter and adjust in anyway they pleased to fit their over 70 different phones. Google believed that by offering it free, in the long run would create more internet friendly phones and more ad views for Google. I think that this strategy was successful due to the fact that Android is the world’s most popular operating system loved by many smartphone users. My point here, that Android is the better operating system, than Apple, should interest those who are

With Apple being so far ahead of their competition, the only problem one can foresee in Apple’s future is how long they can sustain such innovation before they plateau. Apple does a phenomenal job at releasing their innovative products before their competition, but if their innovation cannot hold steady, this may lead to changes in demand for their products considerably. This can be seen with their release of the iPhone, the first successful touch screen cellular phone. Although people swarmed to the iPhone when it was first released because of its advanced technology, as the years have passed, other similar designs, including those with android and windows based operating systems, have drawn a considerable portion of the market. A clear representation of Apple’s attempt to regain some of this market can be seen when the iPhone was released to Verizon Wireless’ customers in

Apple Inc. v. Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. was the first of a series of ongoing lawsuits between Apple Inc. and Samsung Electronics regarding the design of smartphones and tablet computers; between them, the companies made more than half of smartphones sold worldwide as of July 2012.[1] In the spring of 2011, Apple began litigating against Samsung in patent infringement suits, while Apple and Motorola Mobility were already engaged in a patent war on several fronts.[2] Apple's multinational litigation over technology patents became known as part of the mobile device patent wars: extensive litigation in fierce competition in the global market for consumer
The competition of mobile operating systems usage is a huge factor in the United States. Google provides an operating system for mobile smartphones called Android in that case, Apple decides to roll out a mobile operating system for Apple devices called iOS in the same year. The ratio of people using iOS in the United States over Android in the past couple years has been 6 to 1. However, after Google’s improvements and recently new updates to the operating system which is called Lollipop 5.0 has dominated a big percentage of iOS users to use Android based operating system smartphones. (Fact on Android vs iOS) Take another example by Google, they have invented a web browser in which competes with Internet Explorer. Internet Explorer has integrated with Microsoft’s operating system Windows and has been used quite well. On the other hand, Google decided to invent Google Chrome as a competitor to Microsoft’s Internet Explorer. Google’s web browser
Question 1. I agree that the external applications developed for Apple's mobile devices give the company a competitive advantage, albeit not to the extent projected in the case. The case is a little bit out of date with that assertion, given that Android now has a bigger market share than Apple. As of November 2011, Apple boasted over 500,000 applications for iOS; Android had 250,000 (McCracken, 2011). Android has more mobile app downloads, however and a larger market share. So while the number of applications for Apple mobile devices gives it competitive advantage over small operating systems, it is not really an advantage over Android, based on current information.
Apple is one of the most famous companies there has ever been. They make the most amazing Iphones anyone could want. Making sure the people are up to date with advances in technology. They continue with the making of new Iphones. The design they use for the new phones are great. There is thousands of people that prefer Iphones than an Android. They want to keep people happy with their products and make sure people continue on buying their new invention. They have amazing systems that people can’t resist, and that only makes them greater. In my personal opinion I prefer Android better but thats only me. With the years this company keeps on growing and growing.
In conclusion the issues or problems has been shown and briefly discussed in the case of apple vs. Samsung. Some are the breach of the patent by Samsung. the duration of the ownership of a patent by a major company is exceedingly long. But the suggested solution was to
