Apple.com versus Blackberry.com: A website comparison One of the most effective aspects of Apple's web design is that the Apple website resembles the Apple products the company is attempting to promote. The Apple website is a sleek, pale creation colored white with easily-surfed buttons at the top of the website in pale grey. The flagship image on the homepage promotes Apple's most current product, the newest incarnation of the iPad. A screen-size woman's hand fingers a nearly lifelike pink flower depicted on an iPad. There are few words but they are effective resolutionary proclaim the text above the hand. The image, rather than the words speaks for the iPad's value. The iPad offers the user a nearly lifelike experience of beauty and design. BlackBerry, one of Apple's main rivals, offers a more functional design. Its website does subliminally suggest the product, given its glossy black character. A picture of a hand holding a BlackBerry is apparent, much like Apple's depiction of the iPad. However, the website for BlackBerry is much busier and text-heavy. The words greeting the website surfer proclaim: "sharing information is now a contact sport." The words and the blackness are somewhat aggressive and masculine in tone, versus the more feminine image on the white Apple website. Apple's website is easy to surf and navigate.
