Although they were unorganized, there is information that suggests that Greek and Roman civilizations featured people who assisted athletes in reaching their peak physical condition. I have chosen to pursue a career as an athletic trainer because I have played baseball for the past 14 years and I have seen many of the common injuries that athletes sustain.
