Based on what previously cited, it is plain, that reader's annotations is really an expression of his personality traits. Indeed, we show very plainly that the considered annotation features in our study may appear insignificant in themselves, but, they are nevertheless all very significant as indications of the annotator's personality

I made changes in the wording of the instructions so that they read more like soft commands than hard commands. I also removed all of the extraneous wording so that each step is short and to the point.

A longitudinal study conducted by Rofey et al. (2009) assessed the relationship of childhood depression and anxiety to weight gain. The purpose of this study was to examine the "relationships between mood disorders and weight in children" (Rofey et al., 2009 p.524).
In this passage the past and present are clashing with each other. It keeps going back and forth between details about the party and remembering the past or comparing something to the past. The paragraph reflecting on the past seems nostalgic as Clarissa remembers all the fun and crazy times she had with Sally, and how Sally does not seem like who she used to be. Clarissa is almost comparing the present Sally to the Sally of many years ago who did not have a care in the world. To me, Clarissa seems to get caught up thinking about the past and having to refocus on the present and what is happening around her. It makes me wonder if she is not quite happy with her life and is thinking back to how it could have been different. She does not really
James Pennebaker argues in his article Ignoring the Content, Celebrating the Style, that the way a person writes can reveal parts of their personality. In the article he specifies the difference between what he calls “content words” and “style words”, the former being those words in a sentence which give it meaning and the latter being the opposite (84- 85). He argues that how these style words are used differs between people and therefore can be a valuable tool for extrapolating bits of their personality. In the beginning of the article he describes a test often administered by psychologists in which people are asked to look at a picture and write down what they see (83). According to Pennebaker, the way a person responds to the picture can
Have you ever tried annotating? Annotating is the act of adding notes or comments to a text. I do like it and think it’s a good way to stay connected with the book but I happen to not use it that often.
Half-past Two presents a boy who has committed an unknown offence and has to stay for detention. This poem depicts the subject of time as viewed from a child’s prospective, who has yet to learn how to understand the language of a clock. Time is a concept for some, whilst for others it is a form of measurement. U.A Fanthorpe describes a childhood memory through an omniscient narrator. The boy becomes a symbol of youth in comparison to the harshness of adulthood. It is written in free verse stanzas and consists of eleven three line stanzas.
Annotation helps the reader focus their attention when reading a source and record their thoughts as they read.
The purpose of this paper is to display my knowledge of constructing an annotated bibliography. This annotated bibliography consists of the five articles from journal set A. The annotation covers evidence based practices and issues with the field of psychology such as lack of services, cost and, quality of care. Each annotation addresses the strength of the article, the purpose of the article, the relevance to the field of psychology and its uniqueness. The paper is a very brief synopsis of the article as well as a critique. It is not as concise as a literature review.
I learned that annotating is good for you because it helps you understand the book when you read it more. It also gives you a deeper meaning of the book. It also helps you because it helps you in reading and writing. So I my book my annotations help me understand it more because if I just read the book I can just forget everything I read. Also when I annotate I know what’s going on I who this person or I think I know what’s happening next. Also annotating is good for me because it helps me know the book more and more when I get closer to that part or when I done with the book. Like for example annotating is asking questions or writing down words you don’t know and predicting and all of that. My challenge is to make the book better for me when
I completely agree about annotating; it makes organizing your writing much simpler. The part of the reading about analyzing the elements of an argument really stood out to me. Making a diagram of the elements of an argument make it easier to analyze and view everything. It also ensures that you do not leave anything out. I also found the part about arguing for a purpose interesting and helpful. I had never thought about there being more than one reason to argue a point before. Knowing these things will certainly influence my writing and arguing, as well as my view on other peoples
Kwantes et al. (2016) built upon classic personality trait research by Allport and Odbert (1936) and Cattell (1943), further refined by Goldberg (1990) as the ‘Big Five’ personality traits: extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, openness to new experience and neuroticism. Recent research on the Big Five has centered on the lexical approach, which presupposes that fundamental personality characteristics are expressed in an individual 's language, which may then be subject to further analysis and classification. The main purpose of the Kwantes et al. (2016) study was thus to explore whether words that individuals use in written documents
