Have you ever heard of other Cinderella stories aside from the traditional ones that usually come across television or shows up in children's books? Well, if not now you know there are more. These Cinderella stories are all different, but similar in some type of way. There are many stories that are unique either because of the cultural diversity, or even the way it ended. We all know how the traditional one goes where there’s a beautiful girl who’s mistreated by her step mom and sisters that were married into the family. In the story A Retrieved Reform by O. Henry Jimmy, Valentine has gone from a bank robber to a hero. Jimmy Valentine was a safe cracker and a bank robber, but after he finds a girl he likes he has to change his name and change his ways. He opens a shoe store and starts a new life. The girl he wanted to marry had a niece that got stuck in a bank vault so Jimmy breaks her out. Jimmy Valentine was a changed man, because he did not rob any safes for a year, he started a business and made a honest living, and he saved his future niece who was trapped in a bank vault.
Washington Irving's portrayal of Dame Van Winkle is not fair because it states that in the story, “Rip Van Winkle,” Rip only helps the townspeople, he never works at home, and he tries to skip going home. Rip wakes up early every morning and leaves the house and goes around town asking people if they need help. Rip helps the townspeople run errands. Rip also goes and talks to the old men at the barbershop. Dame always has to work at home by herself because Rip is always somewhere in town talking to the kids or adults.
Cinderella, in the first ever story, is shown to have this inner beauty, one that originates from the soul. This correlates to the gods and how they play a vital role in the culture of the Egyptians. Cinderella is shown to have a beautiful voice, and graceful moves that make her dancing a delight to the master. Even though she is a slave, her inner beauty can never be taken away. This is conveying how beauty cannot be contained, even when you are a slave to something or someone. Your beauty will still show through no matter the situation. The origin of Cinderella being a slave plays a vital role in the interpretation of the role of the gods. “When she reached Egypt, she was sold as a slave” (Rhodopis Cinderella p.1). Since she is a slave she must please him when he wants, “But one day her master awakened and saw her dance and said, "No goddess is more quiet! Such a gift deserves a reward." Then he demanded a pair of red-rose gold slippers.” He was a kind master, one the gods would be pleased with, “But her master was kind and old.” (Rhodopis Cinderella p.1) This kindness is showing how even though she was a slave the gods were looking out for her, they made sure her master would be kind to her. It was the tale of the Greco-Egyptian girl named Rhodopis, which is considered to be the oldest version known today. This story was about Rhodopis who was washing her clothes in an Ormoc Stream.

With tons of books, movies, plays, and more it's no wonder Cinder contains an abundance of elements from many different Cinderella stories. The first Cinderella type story was called Rhodopis by Herodotus and was written in Egypt during the XXVI dynasty. This version was about Rhodopis, a Greek slave in ancient Egypt, is given a pair of rose-red slippers by her kindly old master.

Throughout each story Cinderella is taking and caring she always seemed to get the short end of the stick. Cinderella is one of the American Indian myths and legends fairytale which tells the story of a rich man’s daughter whose mother died after promised her to be a pious and good. Interpreting in ancient mythology, especially monomyth, the character of the story, Cinderella represents as a heroine. In the fairytale, a call to adventure, supernatural aid, crossing the threshold, an ultimate boon, and meeting with the god has been reflected. And all the mentioned above are a hero or heroine journey that must be accomplished in a given adventure.

Cinderella is a character who is often mistreated by her stepmother and god sisters. Bearing unsuitable personalities, they treat her harshly, leaving all of the chores to her. However, she admits that her tattered clothes are not worthy of a formal event, and continues to be belittled by her stepsisters. Cinderella is innocent just as the child, and this allows the child to not feel guilt about his jealous judgements towards siblings. Cinderella’s story helps the child realize how terrible things could be for them and to appreciate how lucky they are instead of looking at the negative side of their life.
Each person in the world has heard of Cinderella, no matter what kind of version it may be. Cinderella is the one fairy tale story that has been popular and will always be the one tale that has to be told to children. Words and story lines might be twist and turn, but in the end the knowledge of the story will be learned in similar ways. As we all know when one story is told another is created, when one is at its best then another is at its worse. One version will always be better than another, but no matter what version it might be the story will be told.
Fairy Tale Fairy Tales are an important part of growing up for young children everywhere. The mind of a child is one of the most imaginative and beautiful things on Earth and this is what makes fairy tales so appealing to young kids. Fairy tales take a child’s exploding imagination and allow it to run wild with dreams of brave knights, beautiful princesses, and any other entity that fits into their story. These wonderful fairy tales are not only for kids, but grown people as well. A story can carry powerful meanings such as bravery or humbleness that relate to more mature minds.
Children have always looked up to disney. They found that fairy tales are interesting or taught them a lesson. We read fairy tales because it expands our imagination and it teaches conscience and moral. We read these fairy tales to children because it teaches structure of creating a story. Albert Einstein once said, “If you want your children to be intelligent, read them fairy tales.¨
When Cinderella got me out of the trap it was the best day of my life. She was nice and I wish there was something I could do in return for her kindness. Oh, I could help her get the stuff for her dress! I’m Gus Gus and this is my version of the story. It took a lot of hard thinking. Then wait, no that sounds stupid. Wait this idea will show her I love her. I decided to get some things to make her a dress for the ball. I just need to watch out for the cat. Cats are brats and I think he hates me also, he’s bigger than me and that’s not so good in a situation like this. Because his big butt could land on me!
