Chapter 4: How to help
If you want to help on this issue go to this website . It will help you find shelters to volunteer at avd help rescue and save animals. So this chapter is about how you can make the world a better place and save animals lives. First off you can make a facebook page like Faye carey did. Her facebook page is Animal rehome waikato where she advertises dogs that are up for adoption. Plus faye also volunteers at her local pet shelter. If you are wanting to adopt a pet on facebook or some website like that make sure the person selling is real and make sure that the person you are adopting from is legitimate and it is not a scam. Next if you want to help, and stop animals from roaming the streets go around your neighborhood
The movie Selma directed by Ava DuVernay is based on the 1965 Selma to Montgomery voting right marches. Like most films that are based on a true story or an event there was some inaccurate details. Like the scene where Jimmie Lee Jackson was shot and killed. He was shot and killed by a state trooper but in Marion not Selma and died 8 days later in the hospital.
They have ways for people to get involved with not only the shelter but also the animals in need of homes. By using adorable pictures of puppies and kittens they get people to pick up the handout. There are stories of how people’s volunteer work has helped them feel a part of the community. This helps people want to get involved and make a difference. Its communication technique is through pictures aided with stories. Doing this helps the reader realize that these experiences happen to real pets and people. The flyer informs the readers of how they can make an impact in these precious animals’ lives. Each story exemplifies how much these animals deserve love and proper treatment. The bulletin reaches people who know little about animals but want to learn and adopt an animal
Hello everyone, my name is Katrina Clark. So, imagine one day you were ripped away from your family and from your home with nowhere to go, in the street, cold, starving, and have absolutely no idea where your next meal is going to come from. Well, for over 7 million animals each year that is the sad reality. I personally own around ten cats that were either from a shelter or on the street starving. I also own two dogs that I have found on the road that had been dumped and left to die. My experience with adopting these animals has truly opened my eyes to how many animals are truly in need of homes. All of these animals are sweet blessings that I wouldn’t trade for the world. If I can find loving furry friends that I love, then so can you. With
Establish Credibility: I currently have a dog, 2 guinea pigs, and 8 birds that we have adopted. I also volunteer for Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society whenever I can.
We need your help and cooperation to help this things out. Tell to your families, friends, officemates and meighbors that there areore animals need shelter. You maybe the one can give these animals an opportunity to live in a better place and can be a way to deliver the knowledge on how to protect, love and adopt the animals in the
Faye Carey started out as an everyday girl, but that changed when she decided to volunteer for a week at her local animal shelter. On her first day on the job, Animal Control picked up a puppy, and on her last day of the job, she saw that it was still there. Carey felt empathy for the puppy and decided to try to get the puppy adopted. She advertised the puppy on Trade Me, an Internet-auction website, and found the puppy a great home with loving owners. Then, she learned about an abandoned litter of kitties, and wanted them to have the same happy ending as the puppy. Faye Carey wanted a free way to advertise the litter of kitties, and many more abandoned animals, so she got the brilliant idea to set up a Facebook page to try to get animals adopted. It worked really well, and now Faye Carey has managed to find 60 abandoned animals new homes through her Facebook page, called Animal Re-home Waikato. It is a lot of work getting the animals adopted--the work includes grooming and cleaning the animals, setting up times for possible owners to see the puppies, and answering questioning emails. Her Facebook page has made it easier to do this, since she is able to post photos of animals she wants to get adopted, and answer to questions through comments. Animal Re-home Waikato has over 300 likes, because of Faye’s hard work and effort to getting as many animals as possible adopted.
Setting/Description/Dialogue The descriptions were good, but there are instances when they are lacking. A bit of setting description would be nice. Add a bit more descriptions so that the readers could see where the characters are. Especially in chapter What Would You Do for 1 Million Dollars.
The Animal Humane Association mission is to “To engage the hearts, hands and minds of the community to help animals.” Even with thoughtful and helpful volunteers, saving animals takes the capital. On average twenty thousand pets come through the doors of the Animal Humane Association looking for care, vaccines, and forever homes. The Animal Humane Association use seventy-four percent of their profits to provide for animals in need, while the other twenty-six percent goes to the organizing and management of the foundation. Oftentimes seventy percent of profits is just not enough money to provide a stable and quality home for the thousands of pets that come through the Animal Humane Association ; thus we have decided to help this mission-driven charity gain some assets in order to keep the number of pets who live and die on the streets low.
What is animal abuse? For starters, animal abuse is when a person inflicts suffering or harm on any animal. Most people, all over the world own an animal; but there are still far more animals left out on the street. Homeless animals are either left out on the streets or are “thrown” into shelters. This became a problem because not all animals are domesticated. Animal shelters began as pounds. “When the system began to be used to impound wandering dogs and cats, these animals were often killed because little monetary value was placed on them” (Lila Miller, Animal sheltering in the United States: Yesterday, today, and tomorrow, 1) . This issue persists because shelter workers and others truly believe that an animal life has no value, but that is not true; animals are living beings just like humans with brains, hearts, and bones. A reported case was that “authorities had seized 23 puppies, 11 cats, and four adult dogs from a self-processed animal “rescue” after they were found in the “rescuer’s” filthy home.” (‘No-Kill’ Label Slowly Killing Animals, 3). This means that an unauthorized person hoarded many animals and forced the animals into an unsafe “shelter”. The shelter being a dirty home.
We really appreciate your support of Best Friends and your concern about the animals in New York City’s shelters. As you may know, 9,000 individual dogs and cats are killed in America’s shelters every day. In light of this, Best Friends mission is to concentrate on increasing adoption, promoting spay-neuter programs and reducing the killing of animals in shelters in order to bring about a time when every pet has a family. We believe that this can be achieved when like-minded organizations and individuals come together to get to the very root of animal homelessness.
The official name of Switzerland is the Swiss Confederation, known as the Confederation of the Helvetians. It was founded in 1291 in early August and their national holiday is celebrated on August first. Switzerland is located in the middle of Central Europe and the capital is Bern. Switzerland is a democratic federal republic with two legislative houses. The two houses are the Council of States, consisting of 46 people, and the National Council, which consists of 200 people.
Have you ever noticed lonesome dogs, cats, and any other house pets roaming the streets? The animal shelter has; that is why there are less and less stray animals every year. The animal shelter can only save and help some. The other animals that the animal shelter can not save and help either die on the streets or get infected and go crazy. This is why the animal shelter needs your help to save more animals each year.
These dogs and cats can be saved if more families adopted rather than shopped from their local pet store or breeder.
It is important to stand up in what you believe in because if I do not I would probably be in jail or something like that. The things that I stand up in what I believe is animal abuse.
My day begins to the familiar tune of my phone alarm ah-oo-ga, ah-oo-ga. I hate that evil unrelenting sound. I am attempting to hit the snooze without opening my eyes. Ugh, I have to open my eyes and lights are flashing with the sound of the alarm. I am able to hit the snooze opening one eye.
