Summer 2015 Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging by Louise Rennison was a unique read. It was unlike most American middle school novels. The book is about a girl named Georgia with a hopeless love life. Apart from being obsessed with a so called “sex god,” Robbie, her pastimes include those of which trying to impress him. Some include plucking her unibrow, putting on Kool-tan creme (turning her legs orange), and going to “kissing lessons” with the idiot Peter Dyer from down the road who thinks he and Georgia are in a relationship. The main conflict in the book is about her dad. He goes to New Zealand because he has an assignment from his company. Georgia’s mom hires a contractor to look at the house, but Georgia thinks that he is hired
The major conflict in the book is Kristinas downward spiral and her addiction to crank and the horrible thing her life became after crank took over her life there was no resolution to her addiction in this book but you have to read the next book to find out what happens in the journy through her life inthe next book Burned by Ellen Hopkins.
This book is about a sixteen year old girl who lived in Barbados all her life but is now moving to Wethersfield Connecticut. She is going there because after her grandfather died her only family left was her Aunt Rachel. When she lands in Connecticut her aunt doesn’t accept her because she had no idea kit was even coming. Her uncle finds out that she is an orphan so he lets her stay. She now has to do a lot of laboring chores. The main conflict is that Kit isn’t in her comfort zone. She is used to wearing nice clothing and not doing a lot of labor-intensive chores, but now she has to wear plain clothes and do a lot of labor. She doesn’t like this at all.
The issue of race and identity is central to understanding the conflicts within this novel. Under the context, which is set in suburban Ohio in the 1970s, bi-racial marriage is still uncommon and unaccepted by many. For the main character Lydia, her bi-racial status made social life confusing for her as she struggles to find her identity. This is evident from the fact that she is not popular at school and barely have any friends. This is also true for Nathan and Hannah, who are still trying to figure out how to fit in and establish their sense of belonging.
The opening chapter of the book is mostly a plot overview of the events that had yet to come. Fratricide, Meaning one that murders or kills an individual (as a countryman) having a relationship like that of a brother or sister, and Rage Military were the main themes of the opening chapters. The fact intrigued me that the Civil War so divided this country that family members would choose opposite sides of this most
Although Harper Lee uses other literary elements, she is notorious for using conflicts in her novels. One great example of hers would be To Kill a Mockingbird. The main conflict within the novel is finding justice for a negro who was accused of raping a white woman. The prequel to To Kill a Mockingbird, Go Set a Watchman, also showcases conflicts important to the storyline. Throughout the novel, Go Set a Watchman, Harper Lee uses a variety of different types of conflict which contributes to the theme that no matter how societal views are changing, one should not lose their personal values and individual voice.
Conflict - The conflict in this story is there house and how her mom is a hoarder, all her life she has had to hide her house. She could never have friends over or anything, no one was allowed in. Lucy tries so had to keep her family's secret
One indication of conflict is the cultural difference between the narrator and her mother. Her mother was born and lived her life in China, while the first-person narrator was born and raised in America. America is known as the land of opportunity and the land of dreams, which gave her mother the idea that the first-person narrator could be a prodigy. In other words, from the mother’s point of view, the narrator could be whatever she put her mind to. Her mother came

I have never read a book from cover to cover, including school required books, and much less enjoying reading the book, until I was introduced to the 50 Shades Trilogy, E.L. James. These novels were interesting; after two weeks I had read the entire series and found a new love for reading. The 50 Shades Trilogy may have started my love for reading but it certainly did not end there. Next on the list was The Crossfire Novels, Silvia Day. Despite the disturbed personalities of characters, spontaneous erotic entertainment, emotional connections, and lack of stability within these relationships, erotica remains the top-selling sector of the book market today.

Soon she finds herself running for her life, but where she ends up may not be any better than where she left. She didn't know what lied ahead and in
Throughout chapter 13-16, I noticed a few connections and surprising moments going on throughout the book. In addition, when Peter Ducksworth chooses to give Glynis and Rebecca their share of the land. For example the author states, “ But Ducksworth had ensured that neither Glynis nor Rebecca could ever put him out of his house. He had divided his property among his three daughters. Glynis and Rebecca would own their share now but the house would remain his until he died. Then it would go to Corinne. Corinne had disappointed him; he was unhappy with her, but he did not want discord among the sisters after he was gone.” (Nunez, 154). The author wants the reader to emphasize on the relationship between Peter Ducksworth and Corinne. This surprises me because even doe Ducksworth is disappointed with Corinne they
