The Killer Angels is the story of the Battle of Gettysburg. The first day of battle was July 1st, 1863 for the Confederate and Union army. This battle was known at the time as the largest and had the most casualties. In the Killer Angels there wasn’t really any many characters but the most mentioned are General Lee and General Longstreet on the Confederate side and Colonel Chamberlain on the Union side. The book begins on June 29,1863 where a spy named Harrison tells Lee that the Union cavalry is advancing.

This paper is a review of The Killer Angels is a book by the author, Michael Shaara in 1974. The book is on a narration of four days of the Battle of Gettysburg that took place during the American Civil War. The story is placed during the period between June 30, 1963 when both the Union and the Confederacy soldiers prepare for battle around the town of Gettysburg and the 1st to 3rd of July 1973 when the battle began to happen. The book starts with Harrison, Longstreet's spy gathering information on the movement and positioning of the Federal soldiers.

The Killer Angels tell about the Battle of Gettysburg. When this battle ended, 51,000 men were dead, wounded, or missing. All the characters are based off of real historical figures. The author uses the characters and the plot effectively to contribute to the theme. The soldiers of the Confederacy and the Union tended to diminish each other.

Fallen Angels was written by Walter Dean Myers, as a real event that shaped the way for our future years. This is read in different perspectives by a few main characters. The characters are, Richie Perry, Lobel, Johnson, Bruner, and Peewee. These people all came to Vietnam with one task in mind, getting out alive. This book will go into details about how each individual soldier felt during this terrible time, as well as go into some first person point of views either during defending a camp, or just sleeping at their base. Even though that there are thousands of soldiers fighting in this war, each individual soldier makes a difference and is a life, there shouldn't be one individual soldier's life over another that way everybody's a somebody

The Killer Angels is a very interesting and intriguing novel about The Civil War and gives us day by day actions through out it all. That is what really interested me in the way this book was set up. Every day, there was a diary from different characters. Because of this, we get to see different views from different characters and how each one of them have their own stories in the war and how they got through the war. At the very beginning of the story, we meet a spy named Harrison, who loves his Shakespeare. He sees that the Union Army is coming, because he sees about twenty thousand men all at once. He is so scared and surprises and runs to tell the two generals, General Longstreet and General Lee. This is our introduction to the character I will talk about
