The first thing that came to me when I considered what Ancient Greece’s contributions to civilization was Socrates. In one of my education classes I learned about the Socratic method of teaching. The Socratic method is only one of the various contributions to education from Ancient Greece. The societies of Ancient Greece made various contributions to the Western world and to civilization, including their art, intellectual pursuits and ideas, the example of their structure, and their historical accounts.
