Due to all of the 7 indicators of civilization, Ancient Egypt has became a complexed civilization.

One of the 7 indicators was their government. The person who ruled the government first was the Pharaoh. The pharaoh was not only named the leader of the government, but he gained another title as the leader of people's religion. there were more than one person in charge of government so he had hierarchy rulers to lead different aspects of the government. There were only few people that were close to having as much power as the pharaoh. The person that is second in line for the power is the pharaoh’s wife. the government needed more support so he started to tax citizen. The Kenbet ruled the local council of elders. Armies and laws were all ruled by the Pharaoh. All laws that were inforced became the responsibility of the Pharaoh. Farmers had to pay their taxes every year but instead of money they used grain that was stored in warehouses to pay the taxes. There were other gods that were at a lower class than the pharaoh. to help the pharaoh accomplish all of his duties, there was a chain of commands. The person that watched over the tax collection, and monitored the government records that were kept by the scribes was a chief minister called a ‘vizier’. Scribes, craftsmen, artisans, and traders are all examples that are included in the next class down. The next class down is the middle class. during the peacetime, the soldiers watched over the the peasants, slaves, and farmer. They were also apart of building processes for important structures such as palaces and pyramids. Finally, there is the next level down is the lower class. The lower class contains farmers and under them, is the slaves. Fields and crops, cared for the animals, maintained the water canals and reservoirs were all taken care of by the farmers. At the bottom of the classes were Slaves and Farmers, they represented the greatest percent of the Egyptian population. There were capitals and there were regular cities. There were also cities that were specialized. There was only few cities that were specialized. For example, there were political towns that housed government workers and officials such as the capital cities of Memphis and Thebes. There was other towns that were religious with a major temple in the center. Lastly there were the remaining towns were used to house worker that are building a project like the pyramids. Memphis was the capital of Egypt from 2950 BC to 2180 BC. Thebes first became the capital of Egypt around 2135 BC. Alexandria - Alexandria served as the capital city from 332 BC to 641 AD. Amarna - Amarna was the capital city of Egypt during the reign of the Pharaoh
