Our Jobs Are Gone Gray Scott once said, “Robots will harvest, cook, and serve our food. They will work in our factories, drive our cars, and walk our dogs. Like or not, the age of work is coming to an end.”. In this text, Scott means that technology today is more advanced than ever and robots have been more advanced to do humane jobs. In the article “Better Than Human:Why Robots Will-And-Must-Take Our Jobs”, Kevin Kelly introduces the problem that increasing automation in the workplace can effectively change the need for human needed jobs. It must occur because, it will benefit our society and increase productivity. For example, “Every time you click on the search button you are employing a robot to do something we as a species are unable to do alone.”(307). He uses an experience that everyone can relate to and that is one of the reasons why he convinces us that robots are taking over human jobs. He indicates whether we notice it or not that we are giving robots our jobs by ourselves. Our job in this case was to read an actual book to find out our answer, but, we chose to let a computer robot do it for us. Technology over the years has evolved dramatically.
