In the beginning of the video you get an overwhelming sense of sorrow for hardly any bystander comes to the teens rescue. This is the case until a young woman and her male counterpart are watching the scene unfold while stretching for their morning jog. Eventually she hears a “bully” say that the teen has no one there to defend him. This is when the woman steps in and speaks to the boys. When

Quinton Figueroa explains how Hitler wasn’t actually a bad guy, he wasn’t even a good guy, he was a really great guy, especially based on American standards today. Why is Figueroa calling Hitler a great guy? Well, naturally people place labels on things without thinking about what’s underneath, this is considered mislabeling. If you conduct research, you’ll actually find that most of the Jews were moving to America to look for better jobs, there was six million Jews, only a couple thousand were actually in camps. Most of people in camps were Germans who committed crimes. Nevertheless, have you ever heard about the idea which something changes after it’s said fifty times? It was like that. WWII was the time of propaganda, mass media control.

He had to plan his ways of getting into school hiding once he was in there then stay after school so he didn’t have to run into the bullies. We know this because Jamie and his family talk about how they wanted to do something about the school authorities not doing anything and making up excuses. Jamie and his family took the school principals to court to try and get justice (Bullied). Because Jamie’s school principals did not do anything to help Jamie they went to court to help get justice. The article “Donald Trump’s Sales Pitch”, written by James Surowiecki relates to many themes in history, one such theme being the use of propaganda. Used by Donald Trump and countless other historical figures, Trump specifically uses it to his own benefit by presenting himself to the media as “someone who can’t be bought,” a powerful, wealthy, and motivated leader who could bring America to new heights, which is then passed down from the media to the public. Leaders in history can’t present themselves in any way they choose, which can easily deceive many. While Trump appears as he chooses, we are only capable of seeing what he wants us to see. Through this with any leader, people may elect somebody only to have that candidate turn out to be

In 2013, nearly 200 reported cases of sexual orientation-based hate crimes were reported in Canada; of those crimes, 66% involved violence (Watson, 2015). Scott Jones, a young homosexual man was the victim of one of these attacks. The brutal attack rendered him paralyzed. He is able to provide insight through his experiences in the healthcare system such as the roles and collaboration used in his care, as well as being inspirational.

I was struck by a few interesting points while reading the article Educational Demographics: What Teacher Should Know by Harold Hodgkinson. I found it true and interesting how the author mentions that teachers are often not involved in policy decisions and discussions that affect the schools. I know it’s true in my district. State and federal policy makers are often not teachers, and don’t always promote what is actually best for schools. The people making the decisions are often more business orientated, and don’t take the recommendations of the teachers. It is often hard to get teachers involved in policymaking or even local union decisions. My district is approaching a negations year, and the leaders of the Union are having a hard time
When children are pushed to commit foolish activities or suicide because of bullies, one can tell there is something wrong with the way situations are being handled in our society. The documentary, Bully, presents countless examples of the effects of bullying and how poorly circumstances are managed. Through instances resulting in juvenile detention or taking one’s own life, the documentary displays various ways kids deal with torment. As we follow the lives of five different youths suffering at the hands of their peers, we see just how much these kids go through with little to no support.

Homosexuals are being discriminated in their own homes, work place, and schools. Vanessa Garcia was judged and bullied during her childhood because she was lesbian. Garcia “was afraid to go to school [because] everyone treated [her] like a freak”. Her fear came from the peers in her school harassing and calling her names. Garcia never felt like she fit in with her peers. At a moment she even felt that there was “something fundamentally wrong with [her]”; which almost caused her life when she tried to commit suicide. John Williams is another example of the fear that society creates for being a homosexual. Williams is a gay male student who aspires to become a middle school teacher. Nevertheless, he is afraid that there will not be a school that hires him because of his sexuality. Antigay prejudice and homophobia interfere with the dreams of many members of the LGBT community. Homophobia causes heterosexuals to believe that homosexuals are less worthy and therefore it is okay to treat them unfairly. People do not take in consideration the deep wounds they are causing gay individuals with their prejudices. LGBT are human beings and they should not be thought to be inferior.
