There are many heroes in the novel Fearless, which is a book based off the life of Adam Brown, a Navy SEAL. Making it obvious to tell that he is a hero, due to him giving his life for his country and how he treated people he had never met. However, he is not the only hero in the novel. The other hero in this story is Kelly, Adams wife. She is a hero for Adam, as she helped him through his drug addiction, always supported him, and most of all, she trusted in him. First, the quality that made Adam a hero in everyone's eyes. This quality is that he gave his life for his country. He did so, on a mission in Afghanistan. The mission was called Objective Lake James, as stated in the chapter 17 title. This was a very risky mission, as a matter of fact, they said it was so risky they sent Adam’s team because, they knew that his team was the only one crazy enough to go on this mission. Along with that, a member of the Army, near the location of the attack, compared the valley to a hornets nest; this can be found on page 272. To add to the pressure of this mission, they had to do it at night. However, they had night vision goggles but, they didn’t know if the enemy also had the ability to see at night. Another good example of how Adam was a hero for giving his life for his country, is how ready he was to give his life. You can tell this by what the members of his platoon said Adam told them while he was bleeding out. These words were “I’m okay.”,which can be found on page 283.
Throughout her adventure, she illustrates many characteristics associated with the typical “hero,” much like enduring separation and hardships along the way.

In the first third of the book “The Red Badge of Courage”, an important main event that occurs is during battle, Henry runs away from the battlefield. While Henry’s division was resting, thinking they had held their enemy (Confederate Army) back, they return. One at a time, the soldiers from his regiment got up and fled from the line, and that is when Henry ran off in panic. This is significant to the plot because throughout the story, Henry is tormented that he will run away in fear during battle, and he did. Before the second battle began, Henry felt satisfied of his and his comrades’ efforts until he heard the lieutenants begin to shout again which led him to panic and lose the courage he thought he had proved because he didn’t run away
The best way to get a four spot on the Billboard Hot 100, is by rapping about something everyone will go through, a heartbreak. That is what Kanye West did in “Heartless,” a song about a heartbreak he went through with former fiancee Alexis Phifer. The song debuted as a single but was later put on his 808s & Heartbreaks album. The song explains nearly everything about his relationship. They both made mistakes, but she’d act as if hers were minor. That is why he states, “I’m gonna take of tonight.” He emphasizes the word tonight, to prove he is exhausted and wants to be taken seriously. But he then argues himself by asking why they always end up late night on the phone. Which proves who is the intended audience. Simply, anyone that has gone through something similar, sometimes ends up on the phone with them late night with remorse. West’s tone in is angry in this song. He was tired of his ex-fiancee, who left him at his lowest point. When his mother had passed away just months before he was finished working on this album. Both of the women that he loved the most have left his life, in an instant. Kanye just began working on his music as a way to overlook the trials set ahead of him. He released this song and it was only the second time he used auto tune. Apparently auto tune can get you a 5x platinum record, mind that’s five million sales.
A hero can be defined as a person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. That definition is a perfect description of Adam and his wife, Kelley. The whole book Fearless is about Adam being a hero for his country and also himself. Kelley played a big part in the book also. She pretty much saved Adam’s life.
He is the hero of the story, but What do you think makes a hero, his loyalty or his bravery? A Hero is someone who is loyal, such as loyal to his country, his family and loyal to his god or gods.
A hero is a person who believes that their enemy is not inherently malevolent, but also has wit and bravery. Benjamin Church is that hero, he was an Englishman who went from leading a small group of men to leading an army. Church was brave, when he gets hurt he risks his life for the sake of the mission. After a little while he returned to battle for the sake of the army even though he was not fully recovered, and when he left war to be with his family he went back. Church also had compassion, when an Englishmen enslaved or killed an innocent Indian he would get mad because he believes that not all Indians are malevolent. Thirdly Church had wit, his ideas of building an army is what won the war for Plymouth and saved key alliances for building
In this chapter of Undaunted Courage, Stephen Ambrose tells the events and achievements made by Thomas Jefferson in 1801. Ambrose’s purpose for writing this text is to inform and persuade the readers. He uses several opinions to persuade readers to think highly of Thomas Jefferson and a lot of facts to inform about his achievements.
Heroes are selfless and put others before themselves in dangerous situations. Such as on 9/11, when a call was given out for boats to come rescue people off the island of Manhattan, where the terror attacks happened, as pictured in “Boatlift” Vincent Ardillo after hearing the news told his wife, “I gotta do something.” This represents heroism because Ardillo is not thinking of how he will be impacted, but rather of the people who need help, as many other people with access to a boat did as well. Also, Ardillo could have stayed home and been safe, but chose to sacrifice his well being and comfort for others. Another hero would be Clara Barton, the founder of the Red Cross, as Barton declared in a Civil War speech “I may be compelled to face danger, but never fear it, and while our soldiers can stand and fight, I can stand and feed and nurse them.” Barton distinguishes she could be hurt while helping the soldiers, however she does not dwell on the fact, deciding instead to carry on and make a difference despite the threat to health. This is heroic because Barton is putting others who cannot care for themselves and acknowledges she could be hurt, but does not let that get in the way of her reaching her goals. To sum up, heroes are everyday people who go out of their way to help others in need without the thought of payment.
There may have been quite a few heroes in the novel “Fearless” which was written by Eric Blehm, who has written eight other books. Some of the heroes may have been more important to the novel than other heroes. For example, there is one hero that stood out from the rest of the other heroes. The main hero was no other than the great Adam Lee Brown.
You are given to decide everyone’s fate. Either you risk taking your life to save the citizens from the destruction of your people, or you can be a coward and decide to save your own life instead of others. Which of those options would you choose? Many people in this world are conceited and they prefer to save their own life instead of many others. However, in the book “Divergent”, it clearly displays displays that courage and selflessness are attainable after Tris, the main character of the book, decides to use her life to save the city from destruction.

Courage can be defined in different ways as shown by Anne Sexton’s “Courage” poem and Harper Lee’s To Kill A Mockingbird. Sexton would say courage comes in small acts and in these small acts of courage are what teaches people how to find the strength within themselves to accept things the way they are. Atticus Finch, one of the main characters in the novel, would argue that courage is perseverance and fighting till the end even though the battle may have already been lost. This novel takes place around the 1930s, and is told through the eyes of Scout Finch. From her, one might learn about her father, Atticus Finch, an attorney who hopelessly aims to prove the innocence of a black man wrongly accused of rape. Both definitions of courage can be found in three characters in the novel; Atticus’ determination to help Robinson, Scout’s ability to conceal her emotions, and Mrs. Dubose’s perseverance to fight till the end.

Heroes are not always people who lead marches or do things for their country. For example policemen, firefighters, nurses, lifeguards etc. are heroes everyday because they take the time to save lives. When they’re going through a challenge or trying to overcome a conflict they always have courage. These people risk their own life to save someone else’s. To be more specific Dr. Ginger Holt from Dallas had saved a little boy’s leg. She was confident and determined to finding out what went wrong in the boy’s leg and went through many procedures looking at the tests.
