The Temple
Do you like scary stories, well you are in luck. This horror story is about a girl named Rose (the narrator) and her family. Her mom’s name is Kathleen, her dads name is Steve, and her brother’s name is Alex. One day they were on a family vacation and they find a temple out in the woods. Now Rose has special skill of knowledge and fighting skills and Rose said to her family “I don’t think we should go inside. I read about this temple and we could get caught in a booby trap and possibly die.” “You said booby. Hahaha!” Said her little brother Alex. Alex can be smart and nice but annoying.
Not long after family listens to Rose and go to their beach house and get unpacked. Rose brought three swimming suits, 10 pairs of cloths,

In an instant, they found out that the crashing sound had come from a boulder that had blocked their way out an d was rolling faster and faster trapping them in the tunnel with no way out. Meanwhile when all of them were screaming for their life… it all just stopped. What had happened? Rose looked at the sealing and realized that a bump on the sealing had stopped the boulder from killing them. It was dark, but a stream of light shown threw a crack in the sealing. While the kids were panicking, Rose got an idea. “Hey guys I have an idea. We can make that hole in the sealing bigger and climb through!”
At last the kids were able to climb through the sealing and get home. But where were they? “OMG OMG OMG!” Katie, the neighbor girl said. “First we almost got killed and know we are lost!” “Clam down Katie I think I know where we are.” “You THINK! No, I need to now where we are. I can’t take the chances of getting kid napped! I want to go HOME!
Later on, the kids found a nearby police station. “We are saved!” Katie said. And soon they asked for help and found their way home. They all told their parents about the adventure they had. The next morning, the kids went to the beach while the parents had wine and relaxed on the sandy shore. Brian had an idea. He said “Hey guys I have an idea”
Later on, the kids all had water guns filed with cold water and Alex, Katie, and Brian all hid in the bushes while Rose distracted the

We walked through the tunnel for about 15 minutes and found a magical place, it looked like a forest. We all looked around in amazement at the sight we were seeing. It was so beautiful I couldn’t stop looking. I saw a bunny that was red and had three eyes, it was kind of weird, yet the bunny was pretty. We kept walking through this magical place and we heard a cry.
The snake slides away; the fish jumps, like a little lily, out of the water and back in; the goldfinches sing from the unreachable top of the tree.
“I'm not kidding,” the monster said. Charlie tried to smash it against a rock, but instead of the portal breaking, the rock was dented.

The thought that Sissela Bok about the “whole truth” being attained is that it is impossible that it can be attained. She believes that people are lying deceived everyone, and sometime is used to protect the person. She also thinks that people that are lying is more important than anything in all of the decision that a simple lie brings. I believe she doesn’t have any faith that everyone could tell the truth. The truth is something that is hard to say, and people at times need to lie to protect their love ones. In the beginning of the chapter of “The Noble Lie” she explains how there are different lies. She explains how the lies have different reasons to for people doing it. For some of those reasons it is impossible to be completely truth. Some have to lie to protect others, and cover up the secrets that can be told. There are plenty reasons that there are to lie to people. She states, “The lies are often seen as necessary merely at one stage in the education of the public.” (Bok 166) This is something that everyone does growing up, and no one in one time of their life cannot lie to anyone.
The Red tent is a book that follows the life of a woman named Dinah. The stories that are told throughout take place in biblical times, and follows some of the lineage of the bible itself. The book begins by telling the story of Dinah’s four mothers, along with their relationship with Dinah’s father Jacob. After being introduced to Dinah herself, the book follows her life story from beginning to end, all the way from Haran, through Canaan, Shechem, and into Egypt. Throughout this paper, I will be describing and comparing events of the book verses modern day, in relationship to child birthing practices, family dynamics, personal life experiences of characters, along with discussing herbs, spices, and medications used by
Jesus' decision to physically cast out the moneylenders from the temple stands as one of the most interesting events of his life, because it represents what seems to be the only moment in the Gospel narratives where he becomes visibly angry to the point of physical action. While one could argue that Jesus is frequently (and justifiably) angry with the disciples from time to time, this is the only moment that Jesus' anger moves him to physical force. Although the event is recorded in all four of the Gospels, this study will focus specifically on its rendering in Matthew, because when considered in the context of Matthew's larger narrative, one can see how Jesus' decision to cleanse the temple does not represent an aberration in either his character or theological message, but rather the natural culmination of Jesus' life and works prior to that point, and demonstrates a kind of revolutionary, anti-authoritarian element of Jesus' message of salvation that is all too often overlooked by Christians and critics alike.
Day ???: We traveled into a large passage we found a while ago, we have been traveling for a while and have slept very little because we keep hearing a low noise that seems to be coming from further in the cave, my colleague Zach is growing anxious and wants to leave the cave, his girlfriend wants to do the same, but they can’t, they’d starve before they got out, so they
In 1619, early American colonists began bringing in slaves from parts of Africa to aid in the production of tobacco and other crops. Abraham Lincoln became the President of the United States on November 6, 1860 and began to work towards ending slavery. The Birth of a Nation, which hit the big screen in 2016, is a historical film based on an enslaved Baptist preacher named Nat Turner who led the only successful slave rebellion in 1831. The making of this film has sparked a national controversy over its depiction of racism and a fictional rape scene.
This passage is a sinister cocktail of atmospheric parallels and contrasts from the first passage that I chose. There is a definite chill and shift in the air from this moment in the story and when the book first opened, for the dynamic changes in various characters are evident and revelations of their intents and leary glimpses into the terrors of their inner workings come to the forefront. Their conviction brews with gruesome yet mellow determination as a cosmic dissonance as evil is beating out the moral responsibility to cling to good. The darkness and mystery that quietly loomed in the first passage now makes itself known with venomous percuss, fueling the buildup to the horrific goal of the
During the period of Gregory of Tours what was considered to be the difference between the magical and the miraculous? In order to attempt to answer this question this essay will examine two works from Gregory of Tours, the first from his book The History of the Franks which examines the case of Mummolus and his witches and the second from his book Glory of the Confessor which examines the case of the tomb of Criscentia. The first book gives an example of what was seen as sorcery and the second an example of the miraculous. This essay will argue that the difference between what was classified as magic and what was classified as miraculous during the time of Gregory of Tours in the early Medieval Period was determined by differences in both the perceived source of power of an act and the perceived motivation of the practitioner. This essay will then attempt to discover the origins of these perceived differences.
One day in class with the professor Joseph Hoolbrok, I was thinking about which essay would be easier to do, but then I thought about how interesting would be to know about other religions, costumes and different traditions. One friend of mine works in events in a Jewish temple and I asked him if I could go there to do a site visit. The Jewish temple I went is called “Dor Dorim” and is ubicated in Weston, Florida. As Christianity is my religion, in this site visit essay I am going to talk about the Jewish ceremonies, their sacred days and their traditions.
As a Sunday Bible School and Vacation Bible School teacher in my church, I have watched many short episodes of the Bible stories in cartoon style. Then, for this assignments I decided to use a couple movies that I have watched in the past: “The Bible” as a television miniseries Spanish version, and the movie “Son of God.” I identified the following characters for their participation in the movies.
