The Blue Ridge region is located in the Northeastern part of Georgia. It is a contnuation of the large mountain range named the Appalacian Mountains. But, they are unlike the Appalacian mountains because they are more rugged and the valleys are more randomly placed. The Blue Ridge region can reach elvations of 4700 feet above sea level. Because of this, this region is much cooler comparison with the other regions in Georgia.
The Edwards Plateau is located south of the Texas panhandle ranging from the northern great plains all the way to the border with Mexico; additionally, its eastern border is near the center of Texas.
Stratum 3 in the Blue Mountain site lacks any evidence of settlement or subsistence; on the other hand, this could be evidence that the people who were there were nomadic rather than sedentary. The 4,534 debitage pieces and 234 cores suggest that it was a hunter-gatherer society and they used local obsidian which means that they could have had no contact with other people and likely did not travel very far. The majority of their tools were also made from the outer part of the cores.
The purpose of this assessment is to understand all topographic factors concerning the past, present, and future of Taylor Mountain Regional Park. The site is 4 acres in size and is located in Taylor Mountain Regional Park and Open Space Preserve. The coordinates of the site, according to the USGS 1954 Santa Rosa Quadrangle Map, are N 38 degrees 24 minutes and 30 seconds, W 122 degrees 41 minutes and 25 seconds (Figure 2). The entrance to the site is located at the 1900 section of Kawana Terrace, adjacent to the private continuation of Kawana Terrace in Santa Rosa California 95407 in the United States. The site is located in the NE 1/2 of the SE 1/4 of section 36, T7N, R8W on the Mount

Stone mountain has remained a very influential monument of Georgia; a gem of what may say to the state’s tourism and a landmark of American history throughout the ages. Stonewall Jackson, Robert E. Lee , and Jefferson Davis on top of their valuable steeds represent the Confederate nation and its tie with Stone mountain as they are carved meticulously in the world’s largest exposed granite; however, the peaceful serenity of the lake and nature that envelops the mountain and its visitors remained a very important ceremonial location for native americans. The complete history of Stone Mountain is interwoven into the treads of historical events that have occurred throughout and even before the great nation , United States of America, was formed. Currently, it’s one of the most famous attractions in Georgia known for the breathtaking view of metropolitan Atlanta at the peak of the mountain. It is clear as rich as the beauty of stone mountain is,undeniably, it has a strong historical importance to American history and exquisite backround.

The area surrounding the Dragon was one of the last areas of North Carolina to be settled due to its inhospitable terrain. The southern Appalachian Mountains are made up of two separate ranges; the eastern range is the Blue Ridge Mountains, and the western range is known as the Great Smoky Mountains. For thirty-six miles along the TN/NC border the GSM are more than 5k feet in altitude with 16 peaks stretching to more than 6k feet. All of this altitude translates to treacherous travel, especially for the pioneers in their day, but also for us as motor-sport enthusiasts today.
The Appalachian region lies in the Humid Continental Climate region, located between 35 and 55 N in North America. In continental air masses, westerlies dominate the climate, bringing cold continental winters and warm summers from the interior of continents. Also, the westerly wind belt brings frequent weather changes, migratory pressure systems, especially in winter. Therefore, Appalachia has four distinct seasons, including a long cold winter, a short warm/hot summer, and transitional periods in spring and fall. The average summer temperatures are warm (around mid 70’s average) while the average winter temperatures are below freezing (around 25 degrees). Summer is the wettest time of year (convective rains,) and the average precipitation
The Western Cordillera stands on the western edge of the continent, range after range of mountains separated by valleys and plateaus. The Western Cordillera is the youngest land form on the east coast region, the region has many lakes, forests, and is on the coast of the Pacific Ocean. A lot of the mountain ranges in this region are popular which is the Rocky Mountains, another well known mountain is Mount Washington. The formation of the Cordillera is when the North America and Pacific plates collided, causing the plates to push upwards forming mountains. There are three parts that form the Western Cordillera, the Rocky Mountains, Interior Plateaus, and the Coast Mountains. The Rockies are located on the east side of the Cordillera, the Rockies
The Appalachian region is one of the most valuable areas of the United States. It is rich in many natural aspects and is home to some of the hardest working citizens in this country. Unfortunately, Appalachia is also home to a variety of harsh social problems including severe drug abuse and a gripping poverty facing a large portion of Appalachian citizens. The two of these issues seem to go hand in hand in many cases, so the solution of one could also lead to the solution of the other. Appalachians have always had a history of handling their own problems, these drastic social problems are no different.
Some major rivers in Georgia include the Chattahoochee River, the Savannah River, and the Suwannee River. A few land features around Georgia are the Atlantic coastal plains which stretch from Massachusetts to the Florida Peninsula, then around the Gulf of Mexico, the Piedmont, which has a hilly landscape in the north, but if you travel southeast, the hills begin rolling near 400 feet below sea level, and the Blue Ridge Mountains that “Rise at 2,000 to 5,000 feet above sea level,” according to “The Geography of Georgia.”
Dave Sinclair, vice-president of human resources at Blue Mountain Resort (BMR), was considering his options concerning the company's service quality program. He gathered together a team of 25 BMR managers to identify opportunities to improve service quality. They had provided Dave with a number of specific proposals he wanted to evaluate and decide on a course of action. From all, Dave identified three proposals that required careful consideration: costumer flow, speed of service and information technology (IT).
Mountaintop removal and valley filling is the long time process of mining for coal, primarily in southern Appalachia. In mountaintop removal the tops of mountains are removed to expose the layer of coal. The earth that is removed from the mountaintop is then disposed in nearby valleys. Following the removal of the coal from the mountain, the coal is “washed”; the liquid that is left over after cleaning the coal is called coal slurry. This process of reshaping mountains and valleys has dangerous and everlasting effects on the ecology and aesthetic value of the mountain. Citizens in rural Appalachia typically rely on water from small streams in order to have a clean water supply for their families. Due to the misshapen landscape caused by mountaintop removal and runoff from coal slurries, communities surrounding mountaintop removal sites and valley fill typically experience contaminated water. Even though mountaintop removal coal mining is an effective way to remove the entire amount of coal from a mountain, mountain top removal should be strictly regulated by the government because the water quality of persons in areas surrounding removal sites are being demolished and flow rates of streams and stream ecosystems are being disturbed due to the nature of mountain top removal and valley filling. To begin, it is important to discuss the rights water uses have in areas surrounding mountain top removal sites as well as the trade-offs water uses make in dealing with large coal
The first photo in this image was taken between 1900-1919, when women were required to wear long dresses and shirts to cover up their body because it was not acceptable for women to show their legs. Then in the 1920s women began wearing knee length skirts because they felt they shouldn’t be shamed for their bodies along with the necessary need to save material so the skirts were made shorter. Many women greeted this new look with pleasure and saw it as more practical and better suited to a time when women were entering the workforce. Women started fighting for their rights which they deserved in 1924 with protests by many women who felt the shorter skirts were more youthful and modern.
