The most significant change from the book to the film was that in the book was that they did not talk about Sandy not being pregnant and Sodapop love her and she did not love Sodapop and this is significant because Sodapop really cared about Sandy. In the book the author S.E. Hinton puts the part about she is pregnant and the baby belong to another guy. Also she does not love Sodapop.Sodapop is convinced that he is going to marry Sandy and raise the baby together.
I will analyze that in the movie the author did not put the part about Sandy being pregnant. That also why Sodapop being in love with Sandy. S.E. Hinton did not want Sodapop to be distracted by Sandy.
The difference between the book and film is significant because Sodapop is
Comparing the book to the movie you can clearly tell what certain things are different. For example, Sydelle Pulaski worked for Mr. Westing in the movie but only talked over the intercom. This not only caused a lot of drama but more depth to the plot. Also, Crow didn’t go to jail but they did talk about most of the consequences of her going to jail. This made a little bit more serious and emotional instead of just letting it go.
For instance, in the book Joppy knew Albright; Albright knew Todd Carter; Todd Carter knew Richard McGee as well as Matthew Terrell whereas in the movie every character denied knowing each other except Albright and Joppy. Another noticeable difference is that in the book Frank Green, Daphne’s brother ends up murdered and in the movie he lives and they both end up moving. The third noticeable difference is a character name change from the book to the movie; Matthew Teran in the book is Matthew Terrell in the movie and he ends up being murdered in the book whereas at the end of the movie he’s running for mayor. A fourth noticeable difference is the pier scene. In the book Albright and Easy meet at the Santa Monica pier and in the movie it is the Malibu pier. And the last most noticeable difference between the book and the movie is that Mouse knows Daphne Monet or shall we call her by her real name Ruby Hanks; however, in the movie the audience never finds that out. In the movie the only true thing you get to know about Daphne is that she is both black and white. Therefore, due to the many differences between the book and the movie it is confusing to the audience since it is almost like dealing with two different stories because of the plot inconsistencies.
Danny attempts to impress Sandy by jumping over hurdles but he trips and falls, but Sandy runs to his aide to check to see if Danny is ok. He asks her about having a date for the “big dance” but she states “No”. At this point Danny takes the opportunity to ask her to go with him and she accepts, but states that she did not appreciate the way he treated her the other night. They decide to go to the local restaurant, but before they go in Danny states that he does not want to go in because he does not want people to bother them. And so he says that he would rather go to a place where they could have some privacy. Before they have a chance to leave friends see Danny and Sandy outside and they come out to see them. Sandy asks he Danny would like to come and have tea with her and her family, but Danny replies he don’t like tea. And moments later the two of them leave. The two go to the dance together and are getting along great, until one of Danny’s ex-girlfriend’s arrives with one of his buddies. Sandy asks how he knows this girl and he states it’s “a friend of the family.” Next, Sandy is whisked away from Danny and this ex-girlfriend begins to dance with him. Sandy being visually upset runs out of the gym and leaves. Danny realizing what has happened but continues to dance.
There are a couple of significant changes in the scenes regarding the escape of Scarlett, Melanie and Prissy from Atlanta. The importance of finding the cow as was completely understated in the movie. Melanie had no milk and her baby was starving so, without the cow, the baby would have died. .An event that was completely added to the movie was the rain storm they encountered night they escaped. There was no rain in the book.
There was also important scenes that weren't in the movie but in the novel somewhere near the ending Sodapop runs out of the house and his brothers ran after him that was one important scene that the movie didn't show, it just skip that and went straight to the end. Then the part where Johnny’s mom came to see him at the hospital it didn’t show that in the movie only shown when the nurse told Johnny that his mom wanted to see him but didn't actually show his mom. The movie did add some scenes that weren't shown in the movie it showed Dally going into the store after Johnny’s death and robbing it and running
The book and movie are completely different. It 's like comparing apples and oranges. (I 'm assuming that you used the newest version with Guy Pierce). The biggest difference is probably the ommision of Haydee and Maximillien and Valentine (three of the main character) and the addition of Jacapo. Jacapo does is in the book, but he is never a large character.
Life is too short to worry about the stupid things. Have fun. Fall in love. Regret nothing, and don't let people bring you down. (all-greatquotes.com). In The Outsiders, a novel by S. E. Hinton, Sodapop Curtis is the happy-go-lucky member of the gang. Hinton uses characterization to show how great of a brother Sodapop is. In the book, Sodapop is caring, funny and, gentle.
As well as the movie having some character differences, some of the scenes were either cut out or added. One of the major differences in the movie is that Candy never comes into the room when Lennie and Crooks are talking to each other. This is an important part in the novel because when Candy comes in, Crooks finds about their future plan wants to get in on the deal. Except this scene is cut short in the movie and Candy never shows up at Crooks’ house. Another important part that is changed in the movie is the ending. The movie never shows Lennie have the illusions of his Aunt Carla and the rabbits lecturing him while he is waiting by the pond. Also, is seems as though in the movie George doesn’t hesitate to shoot Lennie, and it is all over very quickly. Furthermore, the important scene when Slim tells George, “You hadda, George” (107), never happens in the movie, but instead it ends with an image coming from within George’s imagination, a memory of the many happy times that he and Lennie had shared. There are also some scenes that are added into the movie, but only because the novel is so short, they needed to add things to make the
The characters in The Haunting of the Sunshine Girl have similar personalities to one another. Sunshine’s character seems a little dull. Besides her luiseach power Sunshine Griffith could be considered as a stereotypical nerd character; quiet, smart, and unlike other people. It could be hard for the readers to connect with the main character on a personal level because the author has failed to describe Sunshine’s unique personality. Most characters in this novel have some stereotypical features, but they all have a surprising characteristic to them. Most characters followed the luiseach journey along with Sunshine from the beginning, and were there to help her. Sunshine’s classmate, Nolan, was Sunshine’s partner throughout the discovery of Sunshine’s powers. He was labelled as her protector through this journey. They discovered most secrets together. Readers would have assume that their teacher,
Although, when they arrived at their humble house after their adventures, they had hardly any furnishings due to living on a ranch. Before the wedding, however, Sandy ordered a new mattress under his legal name, Norman, and was surprised to find it had been delivered. Margaret and Sandy had to sleep on the floor with only blankets and pillows. Every day, Sandy walked to the post office hoping for a package. He asked the postman if there was any new mail, to which he replied “No.” Finally, after weeks of sleeping on the tile, he plead in desperation, “What about the large package that’s been sitting in the corner for
Here are some differences with the characters. Meg one of the main character's in the book has glasses and braces, but in the movie she doesn't have braces or glasses. Another main character is Charles-Walace and in the book he is five, doesn't go to school, and can't read, but in the movie he is six go's to school, and can read well. These are the differences
The character as the mother is modernized to be a hard worker. In the movie, Sally and Conrad’s mother has a boyfriend who has a conflict with the children and cat. The movie adds more detail about the box which thing 1 and thin 2 appear from. The box is a portal back to where their world they came from. Also, in the book sally brother has an unknown name.
He also cares so much for his family that he quit school to get a job at a gas station to help support his brothers. At the end of the book, while Ponyboy and Darry are having another argument, Soda runs out. When he is caught, he says that he is tired of watching his family argue and he hates that they always try to make him pick sides. Also at the end of the story, it is revealed that Soda had a girlfriend whom he was going to marry, when it didn’t work out, Soda was devastated.
