Dream
In my dream, I saw my stepmom talking to a group of men. This group of men looked like they were part of a bike gang, and they all had either a knife or a gun on them. The group of men had scary tattoos all over them, leather vests, and distressed jeans on with boots. The men took off and were headed to an apartment complex in search of someone. They didn’t knock on any doors or try to break into a specific apartment; they were just walking around looking for someone outside the apartment buildings. When they found who they were looking for, they started running and shooting towards that person. It was my father.
At this point in my dream, I started screaming and crying, but I wasn’t actually in my dream. It felt as if I was just

I then asked her to describe their tattoos, but again I got no answer. At that point, I knew that the only two characters that I had to focus on were on her dad and her stepmother. When I ask the dreamer to tell me about her stepmom, she replied by saying that she was an awful person and that they never got along. She also added that when she was living with her, she felt like her stepmom did not love her and that from the very beginning she was trying to separate her from her dad. Then, when I ask her to tell me about her dad, she went on to tell me that her dad and her, have always had a close bond, and that she feels until this day that she has to protect her dad from her stepmom, as she has done some pretty bad stuff to her dad during and after their marriage. I then ask the dreamer to explain what her stepmom has done to her dad in the past and now that they are divorce? She discloses that when her dad was marry, her stepmom was not a very responsible caregiver because she used to leaved her dad to take care of all the children and all of the responsibilities of the house, and when her stepmom returned home there always seem to be a lot of conflicts between her and her dad as he was starting to suspect that she was probably cheating on him, but he was never sure if that was true or not. She also told me
The imagery in this dream is scary, bloody, and dark as seen here: “The mournful wind moved like a shadow down the street, swirling in its path chalky dust and tumbleweeds. Out of the dust I saw the gang arise. They fell upon each other with knives and sticks and fought like animals. Why must I be witness to so much
The upper and lower classes of America in the 1880’s could not have been more different in their ideas of helping the masses to prosper in wealth. Many of those in the upper class, such as Andrew Carnegie, believed in a system of Social Darwinism. While those that labored in the sweat shops of large cities believed that the wealth of the nation should not remain only in the hands of the already wealthy. The Knights of Labor had similar ideas to the labors, but also shared some of the same thoughts on wealth distribution as Carnegie. The Knights of Labor strived to ensure that the working person would be able to make a living without being forced to endure unsafe conditions, unfair wage standards, and unmoral work practices.
Psychodynamic therapists find that free association is helpful in treating their clients because it allows them to say whatever comes to mind. The client is encouraged to talk about anything and everything seeing as it may help them accept any kind of limitations or discord they may have. This process of treatment would not be the best route for Antwone’s therapist to take. Antwone struggles in creating conversation out of nothing and when it comes to talking about his issues, that process is no different.
What Dreams May Come is a movie about life, loss, death, afterlife and rebirth. The film explores the emotions evoked by a variety of characters when they are faced with coping with tragedy and death. It also delves into the manifestations of heaven and the variety of forms heaven takes in the minds of different people.
Dreams give a person hope, and hope makes life worth living. In Of Mice and Men, the author John Steinbeck chooses dreams as one of his central themes. As the reader digs deeper into the story and characters, the theme of dreams expands as the novel goes on. Lennie and George held on to their dream of moving to a farm. Even though George had his doubts, he kept the dream alive for Lennie. Candy, the swamper, is a dreamer too. He wanted to escape his miserable life working on the ranch to go with George and Lennie to their dream farm. Many of the characters in the novel had dreams about their future. Lennie, George, and Candy wanted to move to a farm, and Curley’s wife wanted to be admired. All of these characters were examples of how John Steinbeck
I felt a strange feeling, the 'me' in the dream realized that it was not the reality but he couldn't get out. The next morning was also a bit cool, I mean “Ehy, when i dream I know I'm dreaming”, but soon it became unnerving. Every night you're afraid to fall asleep because you feel suffocated and out of place.
First recorded in 1931 by Oswald George Nelson, known as Ozzie Nelson, with his orchestra, “Dream a Little Dream of Me” came into existence. Two days later, after Ozzie Nelson had recorded “Dream a Little Dream of Me”, the song was again recorded on February 18, 1931 by orchestra leader and musician Wayne King. Since those first two recordings of “Dream a Little Dream of Me” there have been approximately 60 versions by many well-known artists of which included Mama Cass Elliot in 1968 with the group The Mama’s and The Papa’s.
Gertrude and the other women of Dungatar offer a contrast to Tilly as to how a transformation can initially impact upon someone positively and then transition into something more menacing. When Gertrude suddenly transforms herself with one of Tilly’s dress, the townswomen are jealous and ask Tilly for extravagant dresses for themselves to enhance their physical beauty. Tilly’s dresses do more than simply instigate confidence in the women; they disrupt the town’s very social fabric. Prior to Tilly’s arrival, the citizens of Dungatar stayed within their social status and obeyed to the town’s expectations for them. However, Tilly’s designs challenge Dungatar’s social stability by levelling the playing field. This is also reciprocated in her own
My dream began in a huge mansion late one night. I began to walk down the long, narrow hall. Bright flashes of lightning lit up the hallway for seconds at a time and bangs of thunder shook the whole house. Candles were lined up along my path to light my way slightly. As I walked further and further, I approached the end of the hall where a full sized statue stood. It was standing in shadows and so I had to get close to see it well. All of a sudden, the statue lifted up his solid steel foot with the worn sole of his shabby shoe facing me. It was trying to show me something on the bottom but it was too dark for me to see. I was frightened and began to run in the opposite direction down the hall. Then I woke up. What could this dream mean for my life and me? I wanted to find out.
I agree with the author of “Moving Away From the Dream” because education is needed for everyone and without them life is useless. Without education, you wouldn’t gain any knowledge, confidence or personality. The education is slowing leaving America because of other development in other fields like, “The United States is devoting billions of dollars to compete with Russia militarily,” The United States is so focused on being better than Russian military they have lost the track of taking care of the education system. While Russia's military is already set they enhanced their education. Struggling and making the military better is a good aspect of life but If you educate more children in the United States, they will help you develop military things easier and faster because of their
Everyone in the world has had at least one dream in their lifetime. Most people don’t think much about the dreams they have, unless they are recurring. Most people today wake up from a dream or nightmare saying, “thank heaven that was a dream,” or “too bad that was just a dream.” Many times these dreams or nightmares have more meaning than we think.
This critical evaluation essay will be on Martin Luther King’s speech “I Have a Dream”. This speech was delivered during the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom on 28 August 1963. This march was initially organized to focus on the economy, but as the date grew near, the focus shifted to social issues in the country. This march was attended by more than two hundred thousand people, to include the many actors, musicians, and the civil rights leaders. Martin Luther King said “I am happy to join you today in what will go down in history as the greatest demonstration for freedom in the history of our nation”. (King). Martin Luther King not only touch the hearts of so many that day, and on that he made people aware that there was work
Close your eyes and think of the last dream you had, do you remember it? Maybe you had the ability to fly or you were falling down. For some, you may have woken up gasping for air due to a scary dream. If any of you are like me you experience seemingly realistic dreams.
To many people, dreams are the thoughts that occur while sleeping, having almost mystic qualities. For millennia the significance of dreams has escaped even the brightest of philosophers and intellectuals. Many people have speculated about why people dream and what meanings the dreams have but in recent times two theories have gained credibility in answering those questions. The first theory is Sigmund Freuds and the other is known as the cognitive theory of dreams also known as biological determinism.
I jolted awake in fear. I had a dream. A weird dream. A vivid dream. It was full of people shouting and bright flashes of light. It was confusing yet clear, like some part of me understood it. I didn’t know it would be important then but now I know. How? Well, it happened like this…
