The things people do to be “different” is obscene. Modern artist will go out of their way to be seen. I have gone day by day watching kids, students, adults, even our own teachers look up to their “idols” and follow the people on stage, like they are trained to give advice and teach morals. Hip/Hop artist Witt Lowry tries, with most of his music, to be as honest as possible about how he sees the world. In his latest release “Blood In The Water” I found a deep passion that I myself felt. He constantly refers to “blood in the water” and as we all know the phrase, means creating vulnerability in someone or a group of people. They make it out to be having an ego results in being narcissistic or egotistical. As an artist or person concerning the stage… they should see the difference that yes, people are actually listening to you. People hear every word and judge those words but that does not remit you the power to turn people away from their own thoughts, their own feelings, their own morals, or their own values, just to be accepted by you the artist. Same goes to the artist and us as the audience. We are the ones who listen to an artist for their words, or their craft.
