1. My inner speech that I said to myself in my head would be come on you got this it helps me get thru anything especially when it comes to a workout. And yews I am very encouraging to myself and others. 2. When it comes to problem solving I am good at it. a time I help resolve a difficult issue was helping my friend get back with her ex-boyfriend. 3. An example of two positive thinking and optimism works for me is when I used to get panics attack I use to think positive close my eyes and take myself to a happy place it used to help it go away. Or when I work out telling myself you got this helps me get thru the workout.
Self- talk can be technical and neutral and be used in self affirmations as they are often used to help athletes stay focused, close out previous mistakes or unsuccessful experiences with the purpose to make the performance automatic (VolleyballAdvistors.com, 2015). I use self-affirmation such as repeating positive statements to myself. An example being when I’m in the position of first receive after the serve I say to myself before the ball is served, “when I see the ball come over from the server, I will stay calm because I am capable of digging the ball to the setter as I have practiced it in class” (VolleyballAdvistors.com, 2015). Throughout gameplay I also use self- talk to give commands to myself such as, ‘Move your feet’ and ‘Focus,’
You feel happy when you are optimistic. This can result in you feeling more energetic, give you brighter eyes, and bring you success and happiness. You also walk with more confidence and have a stronger voice. Also, your positivity can spread to others, however, any negativity can also spread. Some ways to be positive are to not allow what other people say about you get to you. Other ways are to smile more, try to only visualize positive things, use positive words when talking to people, and don’t give up. (Sasson, The Power of Positive Thinking, Paragraphs 1, 14, 22, 23, 24, 25, and 27) These are great examples of why you would want to be optimistic and respond to conflict with positivity.
Scientists have begun to realize that positive thinking can not only help during conflicts, but during everyday life. An article from the Huffington Post gives insight into this,”The benefits of positive emotions don’t stop after a few minutes of good feelings subside. In fact, the biggest benefit that positive emotions provide is an enhanced ability to build skills and develop resources for use later in life” (Clear). James Clear (taking insight for notable psychology experts) explains how positivity improves emotion and life quality. He also states that positivity is a useful resource in all social situations as well as
Cambridge Dictionary (2016) defines Optimism as “the quality of being full of hope and emphasizing the good parts of a situation, or a belief that something good will happen” Cambridge Dictionary, 2016. To me, being optimistic can help any situation. For example, I work around 25 hours per week whilst studying full time, which results in me being stressed. Having a more positive behaviour towards my studies and work has helped me immensely with reducing my stress levels. Being a student, it can be very hard to deal with getting bad feedback or not finding the resources you need to complete a great assignment. I use my optimism to
Making this change in my problem solving would probably result in better decisions in life and the workplace. (DeJanasz, S., 2015, pp. 339) People have to make decisions and find solutions to problems every day. If I improve my ability to solve problems, I can improve my chances in obtaining my career and personal goals. By building on my past experiences of solving problems, I will be able to handle more complex problems in the future. All people need to set goals and complete challenges in order to meet them.
POSITIVE THINKING IS A MENTAL AND EMOTIONAL ATTITUDE THAT FOCUSES ON THE BRIGHT SIDE OF LIFE AND EXPECTS POSTIVE RESULTS.
Optimism helps people cope with the difficulties of life. It is an urgent topic today. Individuals who learn to be optimistic in almost any situation can not only avoid becoming depressed, but can also improve their physical health and well being. (Diehl, 2001) Optimistic people tend to think to focus primarily on the better things instead of the negative. A person may express more optimism when it comes to making harder decisions. (Armor & Taylor, 1998) Optimists go through some of the same struggles that a pessimist would go through. Even though they both experience the same problems, an optimist would think about their disappointments in the opposite way. (Seligman, 1994) Some researchers have come to the conclusion
What the world gains from optimism. Hellen Keller wrote in her essay titled “Optimism, Part 3: The Practice of Optimism”, “Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence.” Positive thinking is the true meaning of hope in the world that can lead to many great successes and can bring confidence. For example, as my softball season started up last year I knew I was going to struggle especially knowing my team would be getting a new coach. The year started with anxiety at a high but as the year continued, I continued to look on it with optimism and eventually my skills and my ability to use optimism improved. Optimism helped to give me confidence in myself and to succeed even though I had major doubts.
Staying positive is very good during the process of achieving your objective, that is because if you are hard on yourself you are already telling your mind no you cannot do it. Staying positive can also make people want to work with you, for example let’s say two girls
I tend to excel in mathematics, but only when I have a good teacher who knows how to teach the lesson correctly. After learning and knowing that I know how to complete the problem I tend to understand and find shortcuts to making the problems easier to complete. I also can help other people learn it. I tend to struggle with English; I do not understand grammar and commas. When in English class you will probably just catch me staring at the work being taught, because it looks like a foreign language to me.
As I was pondering on where my roots of optimism came from, I came to a realization that my optimism comes in many forms. First off, it is all about mindset and practice. If a person is constantly thinking negatively, the only thing radiating off of that person is negative energy. Not everything in life will all be happy, and a part of being optimistic is understanding this and learning to deal with negative situations with a positive outlook. For example, just before the start my freshman year of high school, my family got relocated from Northwest Indiana to Southwest Ohio, and making the adjustment was harder than I initially thought. I was struggling to make any friends, I would come home crying, and be upset with my parents for making us
Being optimistic is the main principle for most people. We may often hear the statement about “be an optimist, not a pessimist!” shouted by people. Sometimes you do it for yourself too. When facing such a failure or problem, this will not only help to relieve your heart. Being optimistic will help someone to be healthy in physical and mental. An optimist will find the best way in any circumstance and hope for every good thing can come to him/her. You may have gone through thousands of hard times. However, if you are a born optimist then you will not care of anything destructing you.
Their many ways optimism helps you overcome obstacles is it makes you believe that you can accomplish anything. No matter how difficult the task may seem, optimism makes you believe you can achieve it. Optimists believe that
First, optimism is a source of motivation as it is much easier to initiate action when we believe or actions will lead to positive outcomes when facing obstacles. By interpreting bad events as temporary and limited to specific situations, optimists protect themselves from strong negative emotional reactions that might undermine confidence and interfere with effective coping (Carver & Scheier,
I believed that most of the times I can be an authentic leader at work because I can talk and act
